It looks like the work being done in this space is really excellent. Good job, all involved.

The inevtiable downside to the scheme is the complexity. That isn't a criticism, just a statement about Eve. I think we all need to give up on the idea that Eve can be made simple. It just isn't one of those games.

To give some context to this observation, a few days ago I was asked to explain sovereignty and starbase mechanics to a player who had tried Eve but given up due to the learning curve. A good guy, but Eve broke him.

So he was coming back, and wanted to know if he could build a death star. I told him "Of course you can." and explained everything I knew about player owned starbases and how they fight.

Three days later, I don't know if I can face this guy and tell him everything has changed, even though I believe it is much better now.

I'm gonna break him all over again. He isn't strong enough for the depth of detail.

I knew we going to have character strength issues when he chose a Caldari character.

Anyway, good work CCP, you are earning the subscriptions.

To go along with these changes, we have enabled the deploying of all structures (including Starbase Control Towers) from fleet hangars, so that ships like Orcas and Deep Space Transports will have more structure deployment options.

Will there be a 'Scoop to Fleet Hangar' option too? Useful for those oh **** I shouldn't have pressed that moments...

Good call. We haven't implemented that yet, but I'll chat with the team after Easter vacation and we'll see if that's something that can be done reasonably.

Anything new?
