Moving into a new wh

I'm after some advice about moving into a wormhole. I thought i had done enough but when i finally got there i got a message about my new corp not being old enough to deploy the POS i had to ask myself if i actually have enough information to setup in a wormhole. So i'm wondering what else i've missed or don't know

I've never lived in a wormhole before, lived in lowsec and nullsec but while on a roam i got the bug when entering one for the first time and **** myself when the FC said right make sure you bookmark the wormhole as you wont be able to find it if you fly away, and then noticed no local ...

So i'm now 5 days on from my new corp with a friend and i've scanned down what seems like 1mill wormholes to find a nice C1 with highsec static ... which i gave up and found a nice C3 with lowsec after some advice about being a little quieter. Now i'm waiting for 2 more days before i can setup this POS ...

I'm using a minmatar medium POS, found a nice site to tell me what to buy and how much fuel i need to bring. But at the moment i don't know about what other parts to bring. I'm doing PI to begin with on 9 characters so that shall provide me with the isk to pay for the fuel and ships. But what else should i do, any pit falls i should avoid, don't do mining or drug production or should i just do everything you can in wormhole space but at a slower pace. I have an alt i wont be using with basic scanner skills that's logged off at a safe just in case the worse happens, I've signed up for tripwire, i've skilled up for a blockade runner, PI skills on most of the characters but still got three or so to skill up for.

Any advice will be much appreciated

Keep security in mind. Your biggest threat will come from a kind face more often than someone wanting to siege your tower.

Bring in a large spaceship assembly array, give each member a role, and give each role access to its own slot. Have people keep their ships in the assembly array when not being used, that way nobody can steal other peoples' ships.

What about defenses? Are you planning to just have the tower and the hangar? In that case, please drop the J-sig for the place.

Also, are you going to run the sigs/anoms? If I encounter a wh with lots of those I see that as an invitation to bring my friends and make some quick isk. You will reduce your overall traffic if you keep your wh nice and tidy.

The most important thing to have is your POS with shield hardeners and some guns or ECM. Be sure to load up your strontium bay. You want to make it annoying for people to attack you, and in a c3 LS a medium POS really has the PG/CPU for guns and basic living.
Assuming you and your friend are close, you can avoid a lot of security that typically comes with using the ship maintenance array to base out of. If you ever go about expanding your corp, read extensively on POS access control.
You will at the very minimum need a ship maintenance array (SMA) and a corporate hangar array/large ship maintenance array (LSMA). You launch and store ships into the ship maintenance array, but cant store modules and stuff there. You use the corp hangar or LSMA to store items and stuff, and to unpackage ships to drag them into the SMA.

C3/LS is a great place to be IMO. You have periodic easy access to highsec markets, and options to PvP, rat, explore or whatever in lowsec.
In terms of pitfalls, it is a good idea (imo) to anchor your pos at the furthest planet. You want a casual Dscan of someone entering a wh at the center of your system to not show your POS and the force field on Dscan. This requires them to make the extra effort to find your POS and know that someone is living in the system. Anchoring your pos on moon 14 out of 20 makes it doubly annoying for someone to find your POS without combat scanner probes.

Always Dscan when you log in, and then fly something with a covert cloak to inner system and dscan again. Before you decloak in the hole, note how many new signatures there are - each of those is a potential wormhole and therefore a potential entrance for hunters. Before you go out to do your 9x PI alts, keep an eye out in system. Never use an unfit epithal to take your PI out - stab it up and put some shield extenders/hardeners to make it harder to get ganked by some dude in a bomber (see my recent death).
While AFK mining is baaad in a wh, mining all sorts of ores is something you can do. Mining gas is doubly safe and potentially very profitable- you mine gas at sigs, so someone has to probe you down to warp to you, giving you plenty of advance warning if you arent AFK. It's just a pain to haul out because of the m3.

Always scan down your static ASAP. If you get podded in the hole, you want to know where to hightail it back to.

Always watch dscan always. There are, on average, 10 cloaked tengus in every wormhole.

Bring in a replacement ship or 2, especially gas huffers and salvage catalysts. If you kill sleepers, bring an MTU, bookmark the wrecks, and come back in a 10mil catalyst. Noctis's just scream 'kill me'.

Checkout the ingame wormhole channel if you have any other questions.

Yep i have a full set of weapons with some offline for when they get destroyed (small to large).

As for sigs i was reading on a blog, can not remember the name of it now where he went on about the data sites and what not are safer to run than the normal anoms as you need to scan them and in some cases get more isk. I'm not saying i couldn't be scanned down in 30 seconds or less but will give me a head start.

As for sites ill either run the sites or warp to them so they despawn if i cant mine. I have three of everything at the moment ship wise and trust isnt an issue at the moment as i know the other guy in real life so easy access to him.

Thanks for the answers as well
