i got like 10 of those comets . for 25 mil . People had so many of those bought , and theyre one time only .... it will take years for them to reach LP store value .

Thoughts on the market, particularly the cheapest SKINs as "gateway drugs", here: http://np.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/345glb/list_of_cheap_skins_gateway_drugs_for_ccps_new/

Links is NP to avoid shadowbanning.

Been a fun morning so far. Making isk more or less how I expected - speculators are waking up early driving down prices in some markets, overselling into markets that looked overbought yesterday (nothing falling harder or faster than rorqual ORE IMO).

The new Police Pursuit Comet SKIN license prices were knowable before the patch. I didn't see any major leaks of the information which is nice, but I of course saw a pile of people exploiting the opportunity, so I wouldn't expect its price to hit the "expected" 60+ million of the new LP store for months or years, if it ever does.

My long term bet is the Nefantar Thrasher. That has a wickedly low supply (pre-order bonus only) but hasn't gotten much attention so far.

Near-term I'll be looking at Quafe Tristans. They hit 50 million just a few weeks ago, so I'm guessing a LOT of supply will be crashing onto the markets this week, but long term it will still be a good buy.

Final thought: there is, as I expected, a temporary premium for some new NES store SKINs such that you can puy PLEX, break PLEX, sell SKIN, and wind up with more isk than you started. There's no way it will last, so don't get caught with your pants down, but if you're at your computer and feeling alert... there's gold in the streets.

Some discerning customers are already enjoying the Exquisite new look of their spaceships.

In other news, Rifter Krusuals aren't getting any love. Sad

It is also curious to note, that a portion of Omen Tash-Murkon BPCs totalling 23 runs were not converted to SKIN licences - I've filed a support ticket. Smile

saw the guide , good job .
Thrasher you were right , i forgot it was a preorder bonus and not included like everything else . So i just have 1 . And i actually checked its price when i started this thread , it was around 100-150 mill , i was like oh well same price , no big deal moving on .
Totally forgot it was a preorder bonus .... Serves me right .

I guess another factor in skin prices will be how "good looking" are they . I mean for example amarr skins , i expect "iron man - sarum , and Khanid skins" to be waaaay more popular and desired then kador which isnt anything special .

So my long term investment are quafe ones . I hope actually in domi revamp for a price boost )

To be fair, 37,500 LP + 25 mil is around 100 mil. Blink

Selling the new not converted skins right now is guessing how high PLEX will be in future. Assuming 1b per PLEX soon some skins are already to cheap while some have fantasy prices with PLEX at 2b.
I was tempted to convert some of my PLEX into Aurum but with the current rate PLEX is rising i may sell to cheap.

Being in so many markets today is fun... it's like I can feel the demand watching my wallet flash and orders disappear.

Some stuff isn't moving, some stuff is hopeless and will be for ages, other stuff is an absurd goldmine.

Today is a good day.

Is anyone else waiting for the NES skin prices to settle down and get closer to the ISK--->AUR conversion rate?

Seeing the AUR prices, I can't get myself to let go of some skins at 25% of the conversion rate.

Am I crazy?

Side note: I am assuming lots of people are going to

The first hours, days, and weeks are a total wild card. Supply and demand are asleep and preocuppied. People with a craving for SKINs and/or giant stockpiles have yet to log in today, or might not even log in until this weekend. Lots of noise, lots of speculation.

This time next week, I'd say SKIN prices for stockpiled NES store SKINs will start to gradually rise toward isk/PLEX/aurum equilibrium, but it will take quite some time. Note that the equilibrium will depend on PLEX prices, and a rising tide raises all boats, so waiting it out isn't a terrible idea anyway. Having your isk tied up in a SKIN isn't much worse than having it tied up in terms of PLEX, so long as the supply and demand curve for the SKIN aren't 100% out of whack.

p.s. Herman, I've been selling you some comet skins. Thanks, but I'd be careful at these prices, there are a lot out there. It was possible to discover the new price before the patch came out, and people who did stockpiled staggering numbers of these things.

It's all about the Rifters, man - http://i.imgur.com/Uz4hzBz.png

Wait for the weekend at the very least, as everyone has been waiting for today merely to dump their stock on the market, thinking it'll be bought out outright.

Demand for such commodities needs to be created, and arguably there hasn't been a precedent such as this in Eve's history. Even the addition of T3 ships gave advance preparation to the future pilots in the form of Skill training, while the resources were gathered, researched and utilised to create them.

I did a market check from Titans down to Cruiser:
- Cheap is what the buyer is craving, so the preexisting skins are selling way better than the new ones
- More contrast and bright colours, like blue sells better than dark less contrast ones
- Sells are overall abysmal low, only some Cruiser have sells in the 40-60 per day.

Right now the cheap preexisting skins with high contrast and bright colours are dominating the market, no room for other skins. If i had a stockpile of preexisting skins i would definitely hold them until AUR/PLEX/ISK equilibrium is reached.

Edit:
Comet Police is crashing hard and will soon reach the old price + a little mark up.
Just did a quick check on Frigates, seems like they sell rather good with a nice profit, especially the Incursus while the Rifter crashed like the Comet Police.

I guess we will have a better picture after the next weekend.

Interesting observations on style. One of the best examples are the catalyst SKINs - there are a half dozen or so that come as buddy rewards when a trial account activates, and the alternative reward option is a PLEX, so you would expect all of the SKINs combined to be roughly equal to a PLEX, right? Most of the value is in the Quafe Catalyst (bright blue; related to other popular SKINs and 'Eve lore'), next highest but much cheaper is in the InterBus Catalyst (bright yellow), and the remaining catalyst SKINs from the same pack have much lower prices.

One exception seems to be the black SKINs - people adore the Khanid Amarr SKINs and the black Hel (although good luck trying to sell a SKIN with so few Hel pilots around).

The Caldari and Minmatar SKINs all seem really underwhelming, I've tried to avoid those markets. I know I've hyped the Nefantar Thrasher because of its low supply, but try playing with the SKIN browser in-game for the thrasher and play spot the difference between unskinned and Nefantar... doesn't exactly stir the soul.

Black and Red forgot the name for gallente , they also have that skin for catalyst . Imho it looks great , gona use one myself and keep a few , once the stock will get used maybe they will be more expensive , really like the look of it )

And khanid , no comment they look great no wonder people like them .

The Intaki skins look very good too, sleek ninja assassin thingamajig, could even be considered space camouflage if we didn't have brackets.

SKIN markets are definitely slowing down - volume is down across the board, and isk-printing trades are attracting significant competition.

Some points of interest:

  • Quafe Megathron is falling and sell orders are stacking up. I think the speculation may have gone too far on this one, and a lot of people would rather have a few billion isk than a blue megathron. Also plummeting are Rorqual ORE and tash-murkon Magnate from the collector's edition.
  • Strong support for comets in the 20 to 25 million area, I suspect by speculators unaware of just how overwhelming the supply is. Even buy orders are creeping up, presenting the opportunity for smart/early speculators to offload at healthy profit on late/dumb speculators.
  • Exploration frigate promotional SKINs remain unpopular and cheap. Could creep up over time as steady demand reduces supply, and only new accounts via certain packages increase supply.
  • PLEX prices volatile, but never reached higher than ~875 for long, and currently down around 860.
