Amount of Files in EVE Folder

When checking my EVE folder to see what the DoD installation program has done, i noticed that my EVE folder has 61,000 files! It seems like a huge amount, because the other games i have installed (around 20), have 150-6,000 files in their game folders, the average is something like 1,000 files. EVE has 60x more ...

Did the DoD program create duplicate files or are 61,000 files normal? I should also mention that my EVE installaion is 2-3 years old, so maybe some unused files have accumulated?

The EVE shared resource cache has a little over 60,000 files once everything has downloaded (or been converted from the stuff files).
