target management

For quicker salvaging, I learned target management skills for 10 targets... only to find out that it becomes really cumbersome to deal with all of them. I prefer to keep my HUD on top, so I can see my and enemy health close by. It hasnt been a problem until now - 8 salvagers and 10 targets majorly overlap and I cant see which salvager is available.
I tried playing around with what little options they give us - arrange vertically defeats the purpose of having HUD on top. I noticed that when I arrange vertically and then back to horizontally and have 10 targets locked, it will arrange them in 2 rows of 5! That is perfect! But no matter what I do, disable target movement or locking target anchor list position, after these 10 targets are gone, the new ones are again arranged in a single row :(.
So is there any way to keep targets in 2 rows? Or maybe a way to make target icons smaller?? Or anything else you can suggest to help out?

Where I come from, we call things like this "squirrely". Ever notice when you click on the thing hard enough to make it move, it won't activate it? So annoying. They look like they can drag and drop....you used to could move selected items under the overview and get them to line up just over the dial. Now that doesn't even work. Yeah, I know. A pretty ship is more important than the UI functionality. (I guess playing the newer games with the advanced engines and coding spoils us. Just keep your head down and row that trireme so you won't see the hydrofoils zooming past us.)

The right to free speech doesn't automatically carry with it the right to be taken seriously.
