Soloing data/relic guarded sites

Im starting to solo run some WH but im very newb and I have a problem I don´t know how to handle.

First I run the unguarded relic/data sites in a heron without too much trouble, I scan cloaked, I run the sites paying attention to the dscan and the grid, and even if i get killed it is not much of a trouble: just 1mill loss vs the usual 10-20 mill profit.

I have given a try to the sleeper guarded sites with a T1 fitted drake ( on my way to skill me to employ T2 modules ) wich allows me to clean C1 anomalies fairy well, but the two times I tried, I got killed by players. 60mill per ship in a beginners wallets it IS an issue.

There was no combat probes on the d-scan, they had the site previously bookmarked, and they just warped next to me and instascrambled me.

My question is, once I am scrambled is there anything I can do to escape from a gang? I cannot mount warp stabilizers if i want to properly run the site, and my afterburned speed will never allow me to get distance from the fast frigates...

BTW, are this the relic/data sites loot any better than the unguarded ones? I presume yes, but i´d really like to know if its worth before investing more ships and skills in this kind of sites...

A drake is a slow ship. If you get ganked properly you have 0% survival chance. Once you see an interceptor on your dscan it is already too late to warp out.

Running site when you are not settled in a system is harder.

To run sites safely, you have to scout each hole with a covops and scan down the entire system to see new sig pop. That's the only way.

To do that you need to be in a group, you cannot do that alone (without 4 or 5 account yourselfs).

Join a wormhole corp if you want fly in wormhole, that's the best advice you will ge there.

Anomalies < Data < Relic

So yes Relic are worth but they are harder.

Are you checking if the hole is occupied first as well as any adjacent systems? Always assume that the site has been pre-scanned. having said that you can't account for a solo player or small gang quietly camping a hole or a neighboring hole.

There are a few options open to you, all will gimp your fit somewhat. Stabs you already mentioned, EC-300 drones may help you negate tackle but it's likely more than one person will be joining the party... plus in a noob Drake it's going to mess with your ability to kill Sleeper frigs effectively by not having combat drones. You only have capacity for 5 light drones.

MJD is another possibility, but this will only work if you aren't scrammed, plus if you're running with HAMS it will severely mess with your ability to close range on Sleepers that like to keep their distance.

You can also look at maybe fitting a neut to try and drop any scram on you if you're tackled by a frigate, but again you're going to lose your salvager / probe launcher - this can be remedied by carrying a mobile depot and refitting as needed.

In your situation I'd advise maybe finding some like minded fellows who can assist you with scouting, running the sites and fighting if need be. WH PvP is fun, and once you start making some isk you'll brush off losing a 60m Drake in the same way you're not bothered about losing Herons.

I didn´t knew nothing about mobile depots... Now i read a bit and it sounds just too easy to be true… I guess I misunderstood something but, in theory, i could go to a site, deploy the mobile depot, start cleaning the site sitting next to my depot, and if I am attacked just refit to full warp stabilizers, scoop and escape?

Thanks a lot for all the advices!

A smart player will reinforce your depot. You lose your fitting capabilities then.

C2's are heavily flown through by PVP people. Unless you have a scout for both holes, someone will generally find you.

Drakes fine though, just understand C2 and above, having a friend nearby or in system helps a ton. Other than that, keep on dscan and hope a combat recon doesn't show up.

And i just read that interdiction spheres and warp disruption fields are unaffected by warp stabilizers… I will try to run guarded sites only if I am extremely confident of being alone in the system.

Or hell maybe I start skilling to stealth bomber and became part of the problem instead of looking for a solution XD

In your case, i.e. C1 and C2: NO!

Usual Sleeper Data / Relic Sites aren't worth hacking. If you find a talocan frigate wreck, yes. But besides this just do the sleepers, loot, salvage and move on. Time on Hacking Sleeper Cans is wasted time!
And with look on the sleepers they are not better than anomalies paywise. Only Advantage is you have to be scanned down unless they already have a Bookmark from that site.
