Over the past week I keep hearing people on comms saying things about changes to fleet warping and it being a thing of the past, or its going away period.

I did some searching but cannot find anything to that effect, so I am posting here to confirm if this is just a rumor by muppets?

The only thing I recall is the removal of fighter warping, not fleet.

CCP Fozzie apparently alluded to wanting to eventually eliminate fleet warp during an EVE DownUnder podcast (if memory serves me).

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Fuzz.... says a lot of things.

His latest spoof is removal of local from null. After people started making plans to move into whs, other devs had to step in and backtrack without outright contradicting him, and assure playerbase that "risk and reward in null will be balanced," whatever that means.

So, like all other things Fuzzie, it may happen, but probably not.

The thing about MMOs in general and EVE in particular is that there is a lot of downtime when logged in. And downtime is the way to the dark side of speculation and rumors.

The point I'm trying to make here is that if you hear it on coms, ignore it. Or if you are bored, run with it and really try to stir things up by throwing more fuel on the fire.

If everyone in fleet selects the option to block fleet warp then fleet warp effectively is removed for that specific group.

You can hear rumors, but you can't know them.

(Rumored to have been said by Jay Asher; rumored to be a contemporary author)

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

It's not a rumor, it's a statement of CCP Fozzie's personal opinion.

Whether that leads to changes or not is an open question.

This.

I was listening to it at the time. Same for Local in nullsec.

Neither were official statements about the future of the game. He was just trolling the audience in true Fozzie style.
