Looking for an updated base signature strength chart/guide

Hi all!

I'm looking for something like this link but updated:
https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Base_Signature_Strength

It's a very interesting article and I was wondering if this is still correct for the current eve version.

I mean, those numbers don't change...

PS: do people really still use Sig strengths? Theve always been more or less irrelevant and with how much easier scanning is now, they're completely out moded.

Well.. If I 'm looking for a wormhole in a C4 with +30 gas SIGs it would help to scan system wide and check the base strength to go directly after wormhole SIGs.

It's not neccesary, when it comes to scanning a couple of SIGs with no pressure but when you are hunted, sometimes you need to be quick.

the number of sigs in a system actually has fairly little impact on how long the system takes to scan

Maybe I don't fully understand what the signal strength means then.

That's how I see it, correct me if I'm wrong:

I jump into w-space and launch 8 probes. Moving those on a cluster of let's say 10 SIGs. I increase range so that all 10 SIGs are covered. I hit scan and see the results on my probe scanner list. Now I see 5 SIGs with 13% and 5 with 3%. What I thought is that I can now check with the mentioned list above which are wormholes and which are something diffrent.

You can't do that in general since there tend to be wormholes (consider wandering holes for example) in each frequency band, so you'd need to scan all of them sigs anyway. C4s might be an exception to that ...

yeah, you CAN do that, and by the time you figure out all your numbers, i'll be half way done identifying all the sigs in the system.
and yeah, especially since K162s are the same as half the gas sites and a lot of the other holes also have matching gas or even mag/rad sites.
it's a waste of time, just scan.

Undestand. Thank you both for helping.

Using DS probes to sort the scanning results into bands was a lot more useful when you couldn't drop 8 probes at once. Since then: Drop probes, scan sun at 8AU and you got most junk sorted out already.

AFAIK those values are pretty accurate save for wormholes in the 1/80 band which (rumour has it) were merged into the 1/45 or 1/40 band. They've served me well so far.

The only real use for this is figuring out which is the static covertly.
Anyways, the variance between the ranges it shows on visual{not in the scanner} = sig strength.
k162's & the crappy gas = 6.22au
mag & radar = 7.98au
