Question about the mechanics of statics

I recently was in a wh which according to Eve Eye should have had a HS static. But it simply wasn't there, which got me wondering about the mechanics of statics. I used to believe that a when a static shuts down the next one would spawn instantly after that (http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Wormhole_Space). Now I am wondering whether I was wrong (I spend 30 min waiting but still couldn't see a new HS static)? And in that case what is the rough length of time between these two events (old static closing and new static spawning).

No real practical reason for asking this, I am just curious.

you ignored the new sig without scanning it.

^^ This.

Also, if you came from high sec, chances are that you actually traveled through the static.

There was no new sig, I went through all of them and checked all wormholes twice. Went afk for 20 min and came back to check again.

I am not stuck :-) I am simply trying to understand the mechanics.

New static usually spawns a few seconds to a few minutes after the old one collapsed.

Maybe that system doesn't have a highsec static Idea

I dunno wtf 'eve-eye' is but that system is listed as having a LS, NS and C3 static.
I discovered this staggering knowledge by typing 'J004686' into google.

I have no idea regarding the accuracy of this knowledge since I have never been in said system but it IS a shattered system which means its statics are the ones you scan out, not what some list tells you.

shattered systems don't have their statics documented as well yet, it's very likely eveeye is complete bullshit

www.eveeye.com

I use it to quickly get basic information about any wh I enter. So far it was spot on but apparently for shattered wh the info is not reliable.

That's because it's relying on community contributions to chart statics of the new shattered systems. I'm gonna go ahead and guess someone incorrectly reported statics for that system, and since there's no real way of checking except to scan it yourself, it slipped through the screening process and got published.

There should be a link beneath static listings that says something about clicking to report statics, why don't you go ahead and let them know it's wrong by providing the correct info?
