The price points are daft, as usual.

I know Iceland has a high cost of living but how out of touch can you be not to notice the step up in price for the goodies? The FF stream has never cost this much. Well done pissing off all of the people who recently resubbed as an added bonus.

You get the ship skins for free as a promo goodie if you buy game time. Game time costs the same as always so it is actually a pretty decent offer.
I paid like 2bil ISK on the market for all 3 skins. That is 2 and a half PLEX.

So actually the 1 year subscription is discounted by maybe 2 months extra. Not bad I'd say.

Yeh, I read it twice. I think the pricing is retardedly high for a vanity item and I don't like it, so I'll say so.

Creating collectable items with a high value is fair enough but collectors/traders have been dicked in the past by re-releases so it's an unreliable market.

It's not even clear at this point whether these will convert into the ship skin licenses so you may as well just buy the tristan skin and hope for the best. There's some sort of disconnect with the MT strategy here to the point it looks like a pisstake.

You know it's not up to CCP to care whether some skin they release is a collectors item or not. Right?

That's not why they do it.

They do it as a reward/incentive/bonus to us, the players, to do with as we will. If you decide you want to speculate and lose your shirt, don't blame CCP. If you want to cry because they'd like to reward you for showing the confidence to buy a (discounted) years worth of game time, then so be it. Just don't blame CCP because you don't want to participate. If you want to willfully misinterpret what's being done by deciding that they're selling you a skin with a game time bonus instead of the opposite, knock yourself out. Just don't blame CCP for you seeing what you want instead of what's actually there.

I could go on but I think you should see the pattern here.

They did announce it months ago. Although not in the account management.

Same to you: it actually pays off listening to the hints you get in the forums, on the o7 show, in dev blogs... and so on...

You could have known it.
It just did not say WAIT BEFORE YOU BUY GAME TIME YOU MORON in the account management.

Nothing in my not inconsiderable knowledge of the English language indicates that "will be made available through other means" translates as "will be bundled with game time offers".

If you think it does then you're the moron.

Is not bundling with game time not "other means" when compared to bundling with FF tickets? What understanding of the English language suggests that can't be the case?

This month alone i have paid out the following

£4600 for a new Heating system
£150 for a new phone line
Also going away to Florida for 2weeks in May... The cost for this is Shocked ....

Every month i pay out:

Bills £450+
£200+ on food (shopping)
£55 bus ticket (traveling to work)

All these costs leaves me with limited supply of cash, guessing many are in the same vote.

So when a game company thinks "Yeah" lets give a Free item away" but the customer has to pay a year in advance sub to get these items. Yes i can agree it's worth it. But... very big but...

What i don't agree with is the way its suddenly introduced. Sorry, but £89 might not sound much on the grand scale of things, but giving us such short notice & limited time frame on such a offer, well its a kick in the teeth if you can't afford the one off payment. But yet i'm still going to be paying my monthly sub for another year, just not straight away.

Perhaps i should cancel my direct debit because my money isn't as good as someone that pays all at once. Yet i'm actually paying you more then the person thats paying a one off charge... go figure. Then lets not forget about players that have already paid a year in advance & you want them to pay again.... /claps

Its the principle behind the way you choose to implement such a item that just comes across as wrong. A gesture of good will for loyal customers is what you should have also thought about.

I will keep paying my monthly sub (direct debit), but this stunt isn't something people will forget about...

EVEBoard ...Just over 60million skill points, each skill was chosen for a reason. I closed my eyes & clicked another skill to train... "BINGO...!!!" ... "This time i got something usefull"

I'm well aware that they don't need to care. I do. They should. You don't.

Tbf it is only a ship skin and it can be purchased on the market for ISK. But they weren't even drunk when they rolled this out, so I think we should wave our little arms about until Guard come out and sings.

But the pricing is still rediculous in the way it has been attached to subs. I'd pay 10p for a frigskin, 50p for a cruiser, a whole pound for a BC, and after that demand wages. **** off with your £90 tag, and if you do limit those skins later on to showoffs, THEY WILL ALWAYS BE PRIMARY.

Special edition assets of any value have always been targets. People still want them and still seek them. That's the nature of scarcity in EVE. CCP has done this before with plex packages, offering in game assets (a coat I think?) with higher bundles. Neither of the concepts surrounding scarcity or cost are new.

What I suppose I don't understand is the idea that each individual is entitled to be able to have the offer tailored to them. The rationale that one is paying the full amount for the skins is false. You are paying for the sub and if you can't afford the sub package during the timeframe of the offer you aren't entitled to the incentives involved.

The only other position to take is that CCP isn't allowed to incentivise their more expensive offers. And if that is the position taken, why?

If I'm honest it's because I like them and dislike seeing them mess up. They seem to mis-step with MT pricing beyond trolling. Nobody gives a toss about that coat.

There's no shame in what the above posters remarked about RL budgets btw. Honesty, people should probably pay more attention to it, but the majority live in a credit bubble and are more than willing to overpay for everything. Because haggling is perceived as scruffy, and you can pay for it later. Snobs.

If I want to be fisted for £90 I'd expect more than 3 shipskins, a sub to a game (which I was probably going to pay for anyway) and whatever promise was dreamed up by the marketing team.

For my £90 (which I'd need a few weeks to scrabble together, because I have other stuff) I want
SOVfix
POSrewrite
FREE THINGS FOR DEALING WITH THIS SHITE
and CCP GUARD

This is an attitude thing. I feel that mine is reasonable.
You might be willing to pay, but I expect a fair price, good performance and no random flailing about without permission.
(They are totally flailing about without permission)

No one is trying to shame anyone about RL finances so far as I've read, though much of it was glossed over. Also, pointing out that things may be above and beyond a particular budget is not shaming. It's simple fact. If everything fit within everyone's budget we wouldn't need budgets. You should probably try to avoid the insinuation that everyone who does take advantage of this offer is saddled with debt and ignorant of what that entails.

To the rest, you are your own worse enemy. If you really wanted those things for your £90 you wouldn't be here posting about it. You would have withheld subbing/PLEX'ing and identified these concerns in your exit survey rather than working to ensure they still got those £90+ from your continued active account. Your message is diluted by the fact that you pay that same amount or more a year (or encourage others to do so in your place) without even the ship skin incentive.

I get that you think yourself reasonable, but honestly I can't see you in that same light in this regard. Something you pay for anyways is having extras thrown in for those willing to pay in advance, yet you intentionally mischarachterize those extras as a stand alone sale ignoring the service you actually pay for. Compounding that with a list of demands which are somehow "justified" by CCP giving you more than what you paid for is just icing on the cake.

Some of us are only paid monthly, at the beginning of the month. Above it is stated this will "likely" run through the end of the month.

Any chance the offer can run past the beginning of the month, or, perhaps, for those who have to budget carefully, one full month (bringing it to about the 16th or 17th of next month) so as to be more accessible?

Thanks!

Hmm, the price is high is it? The 12 months of eve time without ship skins normally costs £89.99, the 12 months of eve time with the ships skins costs £89.99.

This seems like a good deal, perhaps not so good if you had already bought a 12 month subscription a couple of days ago, but then you have the option to redeem a plex or two and pick them up from the market when the price inevitably drops.

I am not interested at all in the ship skins personally, although selling them for the additional isk will be a nice bonus.

Whilst I do not sub for precisely this reason, and I buy game time as needed, as one Does lose out with special offers otherwise.

CCP, As a good model ,-for both customer loyalty and retention, as well as encouraging customers who pay regularly to do so.- you really should make sure that SUBSCRIBERS current at the time of offer, should gain the offer based on their subscription length.

Please give marketing a friendly kick and remind them that encouraging regular customers to, is as important as gaining new sales.

It is better to keep a sub for you every time.
