I was under the impression you could but if that is the case then make it so you can scan down wrecks

Assuming CCP can't, then what?

Ships, wrecks and cans are all considered as different types of containers by the database. Yet two of these things cannot be scanned down. Meanwhile, drones can be scanned down. The only reason you can't scan down cans and wrecks is some kind of mysterious quasi-lore-gameplay thing that CCP could easily flip a proverbial switch at any time to change.

It's important to note, however, that in a mission system it would be virtually impossible to get scan results that weren't a clogged and unintelligible mess of wrecks.

All that being said, I do not support wrecks becoming beacons or missions becoming beacons but I do - as I have for some time - support wrecks becoming scannable. Salvaging is supposed to be a profession says CCP and yet this one crucial aspect has never been implemented. If rig prices are a problem, just increase how much salvage a rig requires, decrease how much salvage is produced or do a combination of both.

Why not just add a probe that can only scan for wrecks? Big smile
The more wrecks on a grid the easier it is to scan the site down where the wrecks are. Smile
