I think a better measure of BS damage would be to segregate the damage profiles by security. hisec, losec, nulsec, and w-space. I'm willing to bet that will show more accurately how battleships are really being used.

I remember jumping in my first Battleship with barely enough SP to sit in it. Although tragic, it was easy to learn from and adapt my fittings and skill training to obtain better results.

Now I fly a blingy Deadspace/Faction RNI and I still can't find a reason to sit in it for anything more than Lvl 4's.

Solo/Small Gang PvP with a BS would be disastrous. It'd take a complete refit to be able to apply damage on a Cruiser/Frig sized vessel which begs me to ask why I'd even bring a BS.
Large-Scale PvP would probably be met with the same scenario, although a lot of different factors are involved. However, I'm not going to lose a 1b+ Hull that aligns slower than I **** to a bomber run.
Structure bashing is a bit of a mixed bag. I've been involved in my share of structure bash fleets but only once has it ever been acceptable to bring a BS. It was moderately faster but we were even more paranoid of bomber runs. At least in a smaller ship you'd be able to get off grid fast enough to avoid it.

Even in Wormholes, a HAC/T3 is the better choice.

Outside of a few select scenarios, Battleships just don't fit into PvP. They'd be easy to swarm and they're too slow to catch or run from a target. On top of that, they're not exactly designed to apply damage to smaller targets.
Sure, I could use Precisions on a RNI. Or I could just get in a HAM Cerb and get better results.


Honestly, with how much of a hard time a Battleship has projecting damage on a smaller target, making them faster (align/warp times) doesn't seem to be a problem. They're still slow as hell outside of warp but they sport a massive tank and lower dps on smaller ships.
