So i downloaded the client via eveonline.com and then subscribed after a few days taking advantage of a discount offer. Then i see on Steam that you have to buy the game, and there are four expansions? Does that mean I'll have to buy the client again? And what about the expansions? Confused.

EVE doesn't have DLC content like some other games. As long as you are paying the subscription you have access to all parts of the game and its content.
NOTE: there is a one-time "activation" fee when you start EVE though.

"Expansions" are free and come out every ~6 weeks (for the time being... it could go back to 2 times a year).

Anything that tells you otherwise is basically a gimmick to get you to spend more money.

The "DLC" in steam for EVE are just a couple of starter ships and some skillbooks. Nothing worth the money they ask for it and certainly not worth opening another account through steam

You pay a little extra in addition to the standard sub the first time you subscribe.

I was on my 30 day trial when i decided to take the 44% off sale in a 6 month sub package. I should be good then right?

Yes you do.

The first payment can include a $5 / 5 Euro "administration fee".

Look out for deals on steam though. Years ago i got 2.99 USD for 2 months game time. Generally though , Amazon/steam try too bundle stuff in that aren't worth the money.

Using steam for eve creates MANY problems with the game in general, better to just use CCPs site.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.
