Hey all, it's been a while coming, but I wanted to post a final update on last year's Kill a Nyx For Kids charity event.

The event was a smashing success, as has been noted in the original thread, with roughly 3,000 concurrent players participating at its peak. Over 400 of you concurrently watched my stream as the event went on (and hundreds stayed with me for most of the evening, some of you all the way until the end--I wound up with the most-viewed stream of the Extra Life event for a while, putting me on the front page of Twitch which was pretty darned amazing!).

I wanted to post the grand total on the amount raised for Children's Hospital Colorado--not all of it came from the EVE community, but the vast majority of it did.

Together and with CCP's matching donation of $5,000, we raised $18,407 for CHC.

That accounts for roughly 15% of the total raised for CHC, and put us over $100,000 on the year. Unbelievable!!

All told, Extra Life raised $6.1 million for the hospitals across the United States and Canada (unfortunately due to complications with international law and charities, EL has been unable to raise money for hospitals outside of the US and Canada, though it's something they're keeping tabs on).

Last year was the first Extra Life United tournament. 64 participants flew out to Orlando, FL to the Children's Miracle Network annual conference, and participated in a huge tournament with a total prize pool of ~$200,000 (some last minute additional sponsors confused the numbers and I never did get a final total). I myself was selected by CHC to fly out to it, and they sent me to try and win for my hospital. Unfortunately, I bombed out early as the first game was a console game I had never played before (Divekick), so I only managed to raise $750 for CHC. In any case, this all happened thanks to the EVE community.

This year I'll be doing EL again, and while I don't have any plans just yet for any Nyx suicides, there may be something in the works. The event itself is on November 7th this year, so we have some time to plan.

If anyone is interested in participating, it entails raising money and playing a 24 hour gaming marathon. You can play it whenever you want, though the majority of us will be doing it on November 7th, and you can commit to raising whatever amount you wish to raise. You can choose which hospital you want to support as well. I myself will be creating a team with some friends and perhaps alliance-mates, but would be thrilled to add in any EVE players who wish to participate this year. Feel free to post here or send me an EVE mail if you're interested in getting involved!

Thanks once again to everyone who came out for the event and in particular those who donated or helped to advertise the event. And a huge final thank you to CCP Falcon, CCP Gargant, and CCP in general for their efforts in arranging a $5,000 donation on behalf of CCP and the EVE community!
