I know there's probably tons of threads about this particular ship, but I wanted to see if the following fit was at all viable:

I currently have a passive setup with relays, but the DPS is not where I want it to be. This one relies on using the MJD to get range and kill things quickly. Would it work for most missions or will I have a dead Rattler? If I'm happy with the DPS output I'll probably put faction damage mods on it.

What dps do you want it to be? With bit of bling 1600 dps total with gecko or ~1450 with bouncers+fury missiles is possibility (and 1k burst tank against thermic/kin)

I want it to not take 10 volleys to pop a battleship ...not sure if that's the common number. My passive snake barely cracks 1k dps with my skills (missiles + drones) and when testing yesterday its tank broke on some of the easier missions...

It's been a good few years since I've run them (running them for faction standings + LP) so I'm a bit behind :)

This is what i fly - http://take.ms/gW4Ew - my missile skills aren't great and it does missions okay, as long as you don't try to tank whole room/all waves at same time in last room of Extravaganza. 1200dps with my ****** skills and t1 launchers.

Hmm, does mixing purgers with an active tank work well? It probably gets decent regen for when you're not running the booster...there's the capacitor safeguard rigs for lowering the cap usage of the booster, but that depends on it. How often do you cap out with that fit?

Meh never as long as i'm on top of my game with triggers. With pimped fit you can probably get around 1600 dps.

Purgers in my rattle are just for looks as i didn't want to destroy rigs later as i'll be using that rattle in C4 anoms soon with different fit/full passive

Yeah..it's not bad. The whole no prop thing will make the slowboating to gates 50km gates pretty painful, but it's hard to fit a prop mod without sacrificing a lot of tank.

100mn mwd in place of omni in missions you know there's going to be gates that far. Or just take a mobile depot with u and deploy it at start of mission and once rats are dead refit :P

I like that idea actually. Thanks for the fitting ideas. Mobile depots will indeed help a lot.

Just use a normal active fit with the MJD. A large shield booster and or two mission-specific hardeners is all the tank you need. That allows you to get more DPS by fitting more omnis or TPs.

Note that with just one DLA your drones won't be able to hit out to 100km that you MJD, so it's probably not a bad idea to drop the CDFE in favor of a drone scope chip, although you'll need good fitting skills to squeeze everything on.

You also don't need an MWD if you have an MJD. Just make a triangle with two MJD hops and you can get anywhere you want to be.

Yeah if you're going active shield booster, max gank, then lose the shield extenders and go hardeners and either X-large shield booster or ancillary repper. Deadspace hardeners and faction damage mods are pretty cheap and well worth it.

How about this fit? rattle
It's really cheap with some pretty big buffer enough for all lvl 4's I think. Only thing is damage application with missiles might be bit bad. What do you guys think? Oh and that warp scrambler would be changed to an omni, obviously.

This is what I'd change (you really don't need two propulsion modules). You may run into some issues with CPU, in which case drop the 3rd Ballistic Control for a Co-Processor II. With Long Range Targeting V, the Drone Control Range rig and the pair of Omnidirectional Tracking Links you should be able to hit out to ~95km with most sentry drones. It's definitely worth it to drop some ISK on a Deadspace shield booster, and they recoup the cost fairly quickly. The two Warhead Rigors ensure that you can apply full damage to battleships with Furies without the use of the target painter. Ironically, the target painter is best paired with the sentry drones against cruisers and frigates.
