"This week in EVE" is a weekly overview of EVE Online related news and events and shows what is going on in EVE Online. The focus of this overview is on official news from CCP: For example, dev blogs and important forum posts by CCP developers, the ever evolving background story and upcoming events. The previous weekly overview can be found here.

The current "This week in EVE" gives on overview of the week from February 28th to March 6th

Dev blogs and official news
Balance Changes Coming In Scylla - Feedback
With the next release Sylla (to be published March 24), we will see among other things a lot of ship balance changes: remotely assigning fighters to other ships will be removed, sentry drones on Ishtars will be less powerful, dps of medium railguns is lowered a bit.

Drifting In And Out Of Destruction - Feedback
The mysterious Drifters that can be seen in New Eden recently are not to be taken lightly as some capsuleers can tell already. CCP Affinity comes with numbers and statistics: 247 Drifters has been destroyed by Capsuleers during the first days, but 1093 Capsuleers have been killed during that time frame. The most expensive loss to a Drifter resides in the 3 billion ISK range.

Where we stand - Feedback
This blog is an account of the Phase I changes (especially the changes to jump drives) in Phoebe and the effects they had on Nullsec activity. It is important to look back and see if the changes had the desired effect or not and then - if necessary - adjust the plans for the future. Population and activity increased, the amount of jumps (gate and cyno) increased as well. Check out the other important indicators and their performance; also don't miss the conclusions!

Politics by Other Means: Sovereignty Phase Two - Feedback
After the Phase I nullsec changes in Phoebe, it is time for Phase II introducing a new sovereignty model. No more structure grinding to conquer systems, sov battles distributed over the constellation, a prime time window when systems are vulnerable, active systems are easier to defend.
Read all about this completely new sov model in CCP Fozzie's blog. Please be aware that this is an early discussion stage and that your feedback is very important and valuable!

A Call To Art - Decorating CCP Customer Support! - Feedback
The CCP Customer Support comes with exciting news about an unusual competition: become the first EVE player to decorate CCP’s office in Reykjavik with his own piece of art! Read more about this exciting challenge in Lead GM Grave's blog!

o7: The EVE Online show - Episode 5
The fifth episode of the o7 show was successfully broadcasted on February 26 and again had many exciting news and segments. Tune in and learn more about Fanfest (eg. the Fanfest HD will be *free* of charge), the UI modernization project, the new sov system, a crazy celebrity shootout between Elise Randolph and ProGodLegend and a lot more. Don't miss the fun and tune in!

The Fanfest Quafe Dominix has landed!
The third of the three Fanfest 2015 ship skins, the Quafe Dominix, has landed. If you've already purchased a Fanfest ticket you can get your skin righ now from the redeeming system. The other two Fanfest ship skins - the Quafe Tristan and the Quafe Vexor - have been made available already. If you haven't gotten a ticket yet but one one, simply hop over to your account management page!

Technical Support Center
If you experience technical issues with EVE Online, check out the Technical Support Center! There you can find up-to-date answers to several technical topics that might interest you covering areas like Graphics, Launcher, Sound, Connectivity and Updates. Of course you also can find solutions to some common technical issues. Have a look!
Also please rate the individual articles if they are helpful or not. Thank you!

Art and Graphics
Background info on new bracket icons
CCP Surge comes with interesting background information on the design of the new bracket icons, why they are how they are and explains the design principles behind them. The feedback received so far is very valuable and is going to help to improve the design. Icon scaling for example is something that was often mentioned and is now looked into.

High resolution textures - some groundwork first
A high(er) resolution pack for textures in EVE is high on the wishlist from the player community. Before...

Hey guys

I like the new videos you put on the launcher. But can we get date released with them and 'maybe' a scroll bar for previous videos. I really dislike watching anything more then once.

On the capital ship activity on the where we stand blog you provide a graphic relating to capital use and I can't help but wonder why you included structure shooting in the graph.

Specifically This one.

My suspicion would be that capital ships are not fairing as well as CCP had hoped within pvp and decided to pad the stats on the health of capital ship usage. The inclusion of structures ( while the sov system is still intrinsically linked to damage dealt to structures ) and the movement of groups such as N3 since the announcement and implementation of phoebe has created a false sense of success ( combined with the rather suspicious inclusion of structures within the graph ).

I would be more interested in the graph that shows capital use in PVP without structure inclusion ( as with the movement of entities within eve I believe this specific aspect ( structure shooting ) an increase would be more than likely as SOV changes hands and I don't for one second believe this points to success with regards to capital ship changes, And if my suspicion is correct it shows a fall in capital use within PVP not an increase as your graph suggests.

remotely assigning fighters to other ships will be removed
I'm really not entirely fond of this change. I like the option to assign fighters.

  - remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not  "afk" cloaking -
