To join a corporation, you need to be in /a/ station. It doesn't need to be one of /their/ stations.

This seems like it is going to end in some kind of tragedy.

I expect a thread to appear in a few days from the OP complaining about being scammed.

The 1st thing that strikes me is "why isn't the alliance you are trying to join telling you this" lol.

They probably have repeatedly, he's just too stubborn and wants a low effort solution. He'd rather remain logged off in space for 2 days than go 22 jumps just in case GD comes up with some workaround for his laziness.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Thanks everyone for your responses. I think being set to blue by the corp i want to join is the most viable solution for me. Thanks!

In the time between you asking this question and reaching this conclusion, you could have gone with the deathclone 'solution' and would have been done 10 hours ago! :D

I suspect the loss of those plus 3s is too much to bear.

You can only set a clone once to a station that isnt your "starter" station once a year now.

So you dock up somewhere, join their corp, set your clone to a station in their space that has an office belonging to the corp you're joining and selfdestruct your pod.
But like I said; once a year only.

The alternative is to get an interceptor maxed out for inertia and fly there. Cost is about 25 mill per attempt.
As soon as you get there, switch your medical clone and install a jumpclone for good measure.

While I know what you're meaning, it's a touch misleading. So, to get rid of the misconception for other people:

You can only set your clone to a /remote/ station (that isn't your starter station), once a year.

If you're in a station, you can change to it as much as you want.

Orrrrr in your pod.

How the hell do you misinformed and unimformed people keep campaigning and even get elected in the fist place.

Dude learn simple game mechanics YOU helped install cuz of reasons like carebears crying about corp joining griefers, so they made it so you had to be in pod or station so griefers wouldnt be targeting them in ships, then hit accept app

Seriously csm are making it obvious they are just as bad as politions. Learn the game dude.. wtf

CCP Darwin, you need to make a grand entrance about now. Twisted

CCP - Building ant hills and magnifying glasses for fat kids

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

I was correcting the misapprehension about needing to be in a station belonging to that corporation.

(wrt to the pod, I couldn't remember if that change had actually gone through, or was still waiting to go. After a quick look through recent devblogs, I wasn't sure either way, so stuck to advice I knew was right.)
