Why is scamming using charity PLEX events not allowed?

EVE is a cold and harsh universe and so is real life.

Scamming in general is allowed, but why is scamming using events like PLEX for Pakistan not allowed?

Its not like its harming anyone in real-life in doing this and the game encourages scamming.

Its claimed to be morally reprehensible, but everyone know that morals are subjective.

There's a difference from using ingame events and real life. What you do ingame should not be relevant to RL. Scamming ingame is just ingame stuff, but the one you describe is exploiting what's happening to people to your advantage.

I'm quite sure this happens in real life, but it really shouldn't be going on the first place.

Not to mention is bad press for CCP.

I believe that is all that needs to be said.

Maybe because scamming using the charities DOES have a RL impact and harms the cause: less money for whatever the charity it is, and future charities are less likely to get those funds because everyone is suspicious of being scammed.

Those charities are the only events where there is plex to Money conversion. Normally it's just a Money to plex conversion with no way back.

Because then CCP would have to hire a CSR team (that actually showed up more then once a quarter)

Because CCP is making a monetary donation from the plexes. Let me remind you that monetary donation is typically a tax write off for them. They get to use your money, to save them money, and foster a sense of good will out of your money.

You're definitely getting the short end of the deal, but they will never allow scamming because you would be potentially causing financial damage to them, and very easily creating really bad publicity.

During the big plex for good events a year or so ago, didn't they end up pulling like 20-30 grand from it? Depending on how Iceland handles tax deductions/credits they made a tidy sum profiting from you good will.

Yeah, since you are actually depriving needy people somewhere of donations by diverting plexes that would be matched by CCP if given to them to your own pocket, I'm perfectly fine with this rule.

EVE is a cold, dark, morality-free space. I like that. I also like that my RL neighborhood is not.

Because you're a waste of carbon for wanting to take advantage of such a situation to make piles of internet spaceship gold.
