I've been unable to patch or play this game for over 2 weeks since Tiamat release-- wtf is going on at this point is what I want to know? I deleted the entire game and all related files from my computer and did a clean re-install last night. STILL - can't connect from Florida.

Everyone else can play, the issue is on your end. What do you expect GD to do about it?

do those links work

For some reason, the EVE download site is denying the update links to certain people, including someone in Los Angeles recently. To get around this, get the download links by viewing http://community.eveonline.com/support/download/offline-installer/ through https://www.proxysite.com/

However, do NOT click the installer files through the proxy site. I *think* it would be a download through the proxy site, which is either going to be slow, or really hard on the proxy server.

Instead, (if the links I posted worked), post the new installer files in a post in this thread or another thread using the Preview function (next to the Post button) to make the urls into hotlinks.

There were a number of us on patch day with issues posting on a seperate thread. What happens is the patcher loses connectivity and dies. When the repair patcher tool is run it stalls at 8.2 percent.

Rain - I can download the installer but neither of the 1 of 2 or 2 of 2 links will download. 0.0/3.0 and 0.0/3.3 and not moving in my download file.

Here's the sad news -- after downloading and installing in a different direction, it's still not connecting.

I have to use task-manager to close it...

Okay, running through the steps you can take locally:

1. is it allowed through your firewall
2. have you run it as administrator (windows has a fit if you try to run programs that want to write to Program Files, without admin rights)
3. can you run it in compatibility mode

If you can't run it as administrator, install it to C:\EVE\ instead of inside Program Files. It's a good idea to do this anyway. I made this change recently.

You'll need to copy over your settings but that's easy, i'll walk you through it. hopefully you get that far.

Running the client in administrative mode appears to be a possible fix - the client was slow but eventually full loaded finally. Rain thanks for the suggestions and the help, you're a credit to the Eve community Big smile
