Fascinating read.

However, as someone who amateurishly dabbled in some tidbits of ganking and awoxing, I have a question, the same one I asked myself the first time I watched the "Causality" video.

I may sound silly to you, but when you get into a corp, get on comms with them, become - as you said - "essential" to their business, etc, don't you develop, I know it's silly but bear with me on this one, don't you develop some kind of empathy for those guys ?

Some sympathy that lets you see them not as faceless sheeps to be sheared, but as people with hopes, ideas and feelings ?

How do you cope with this... proximity ?

(One answer I would have is the Don's up here: make friends with them after you rob them. But still, am I the only one to see these heists as slightly-yet-entertaingly sociopathic ?)

It depends on the order, length and motivation. If you are screwing over friends because you found out they have nice stuff, that's ****** up. If you pretend to be their friends for 6 months just to get a few bil, that's ****** up. And if you're doing it for the tears and rage instead of profit, that's ****** up. But joining a corp with the intent to steal and doing so after a few weeks? I dont see that as sociopathic, and I throw that term around a lot.
