Just to recap on a few highlights of this thread so far.

-"Im going to remove a lowslot effectively, for a useless module, and thereby making it sub T2."

Exciting eh

Thanks for the replies guys, good suggestions all.

Sorry about the confusion with the CN Invulns. What I meant to say is that they are better than T2 hardeners (and faction hardeners, too, since it's the same resist%).
For example on a Mach hull with my skills and a CN X-Large Shield Booster and 2x CN Invluns I get 429 reinforced tank against Sansha (using 55%EM and 45%therm). If I swap that for Photon and Heat hardeners (either faction or T2), I get 402 reinforced tank).

A CN Invuln and CN Photon gets me up to 420 which is pretty close. But thing is I can buy just two CN Invulns and use them against any rat and have a better tank than T2/Faction-rat-specific.

I could get Pith type hardeners which do have better % resistance, but the Pith X-type (which I think is the only one worth getting if you're getting complex hardeners anyway) cost as much as the CN Invulns for a single mod, and I'd need at least 4 of them to cover all rats, which is twice the cost.

In that case, which line of deadspace shield boosters would be more preferable for lvl4s? The Gist type which are more energy efficient but boost less, or the Pith type that are less energy efficient but boost much more? I'm trying to fit a Nightmare.

Yes.

Also, I think some pilots do partial burst tanking, where they have two smaller reppers, and perma-run one and pulse the other.

Now that was an as ambigious answer as it could ever get!Lol

Q: Which is better, this or that?
A: Yes.

An answer worth of a Vorlon!

One should also consider price differencies between pith and gist boosters, if money is somewhat of a trouble.

Ah, you seek meaning? Then listen to the music, not the song.
