Due to budget limitation, they had to use their toilets as new datacenter room...
Now they need to afk bio at home and return to work, so is explained the extended downtime :)
After twilight zone eve invented toilet zone :p

Im not saying this should be a thing, but if it was a thing I think it would be fun for a while.

And the Wormhole denizens would get hyper paranoid and start slaughtering them if possible lol

The reason why they're extending the downtime is so that people stop DDoSing the server after start up, clearly it has failed.

I find it amazing to see stuff like this time and time again.
The OP is asking a good question here and "nerdgasm" to me is an indication that all he wants is info on the CCP server setup and stuff like that.

I too quite enjoy stories like the one on the "Military grade hardware" CCP uses for EVE a couple of years ago.
Yet here we are, typical EVE forum style, people can only take the **** at each other, good going lads, real mature.
