Ok, for some reason this comes up in nearly ALL of the threads about this subject. Let me enlighten you on the subject a bit. You managed to get into a nullsec corp within a week or two of starting Eve? Either you...

A) Know someone in said nullsec corp already, and hence were able to get into the corp easily or...

B) Got into a ****** null corp who takes brand new players.

Looking at your alliance's killboard... yeah.. I'd say it's the latter. So please, don't act like it's the highsec player's fault for not wanting to jump into a situation where they're pretty much guaranteed to constantly lose.

If you are currently that bored/worried about Null, I'd suggest you try some of the more 'hardcore' training options out there.

-> OUCH (look up the ticker) does Low-Null survival. If you survive & graduate, there are a number of PvP and other Null entities lined up to accept such people.

-> If you've not done so already, take Agony Uni's Basic class/roam. even better, continue to Wolfpacks (thrasher blobs). Great fun, don't need to leave corp, gives you access to additional 'Alumni' roams for free.

[I recently did their CovOps class, which includes tips and training on bubble camp evasion. Had a bit more 'live fire' experience than even Agony intended but I made it through in one piece.]

Personally, I wish I had tried these options before ending up in Null a couple years back. May have tempered the politics bitterness a bit.

You know its amazing how often I hear that noobs with no contacts can't get out to null, given the fact that I know roughly 50% of the corps in the CFC recruit noobs openly. Check the recruitment channels, corp adverts in game, and the recruitment forums and you see 0.0 corps recruiting all the time.

Now, we screen people based on attitude and other details, and every recruiter is looking for something else, but you can easily get out there if you hunt around.

Even if you join a fail corp/alliance, if your out there you can find a new home fairly quick, if you ask around. The non-noob friendly corp will generally look at you if you have demonstrated you can survive and contribute even if your still a bit low on SP. Someone has to fly hero tackle ;)

There are absolutely no real obstacles to going to lowsec on your own, only mental blocks.

I started as a trader, but quickly got bored of the spreadsheet life, and decided I want to be an explorer instead. I realised even quicker that it's not worth it in highsec, too much competition. So I was a bit over month old when I took my Imicus and Vexor into lowsec.

I read everything I could find about d-scanning, local, gates, session change times, pirate strategies, fitting and whatnot. Spent time practicing the d-scan fu and EFTing T1 fits that could take challenge. Got my ass kicked, came back in another Vexor.

I swear I'll never forget the first time I completed a 4/10 in Old Man Star, killed the Overseer while in structure, escaped a gang warping to the site and took the C-type loot home through a gate camp, ship in flames, and totally pumped up.

I later moved completely into a nice, quiet corner of lowsec with my PI alt, explored the region and made always 10x more than I lost in the rare unlucky encounters.

Just do it.

But corps in nullsec, from what i saw atleast, are very demanding and inflexible.

That's no way to play a game. It's no fun...

I want to play eve on my terms and be a casual player.
Nullsec doesn't do casual it seems.

That's the way pvp in EVE works.

More often than not your individual performance won't have any measurable impact on whether your ship gets destroyed or not (the letter your character name starts with might be much more important for example).

If you are on a reasonable internet connection and don't face smartbombs (or scripted HICs) you shouldn't have to lose your pod in low-sec.
In any case use cheap implants - my preference is two +3s for the skill I am currently training and a Rogue AY-1 because that's always good to have.

Whether in low or in 0.0, you will lose ships all the time and in 0.0 you will lose pods all the time, too.

Consider your playtime and ISK income and mostly stick to ships that you can replace within 1-2 days.

If you join a corporation/alliance that you are not quite sure about, don't move all your assets on day one.
In fact, my advice would be to move no assets in at all for the first week or so. Pod yourself to their HQ (set medical clone to the station and self-destruct your pod) with enough ISK to buy 3 fitted battlecruisers (one for PvE, one for PvP, one as PvP replacement) and some cheap implants (that's about 250m ISK).
Buy locally, get to know people, join some ops and only move expensive assets (pimped ratting ships, capitals, BPOs ...) in after a week or two.
You don't need your 2.5b Tengu there on day one. You don't need your jumpfreighter there on day one. You don't need your set of T2 BPOs there at all.
If they have a jumpfreighter service it will make runs at least once every week, if you don't get your stuff shipped now it won't be a big deal because you'll get it shipped next week.
Any recruiter who tells you otherwise is either an idiot or a scammer.

Second point is to recognize that there is a hierarchy of corps/alliances and trying to join in at the top with no prior experience and no friends (or membership in a OOG community) will usually be pretty hard.
There are myriads of renter corps, pets, small groups in NPC 0.0, ... that are desperately looking for any members they can get and which you can use to start building a kb and employment history which will open up access to corporations you might find more desirable.

Every game works like this - if you want to get into "serious" raiding in WoW you don't start by applying to Paragon, Vodka, Method, Ensidia, ... as soon as you hit lvl 85, you first join some pugs for outdated content, then you join a guild that clears normals, then you move on to a guild that clears some heroic mode content, move on after some time to a guild that has cleared all heroic mode content at the end of a tier cycle, move to a guild that clears all heroic mode content fairly fast, move on to a really good raiding guild.
In MMOs we don't have college/university which might enable you to land jobs at top employers without any prior work experience irl (EVE University tries to fill this role to some degree but the comparison is weak imo).

However, do not underestimate the effect that a well-written application can have on the flexibility of recruiting requirements.
There are many roles that can be filled by low SP characters (which are usually unpopular with older players who want to show off their shiny high SP ships) and new pilots that are eager to learn and motivated are generally a pleasure to work with.
If you think you found a corporation that matches to you (and can explain why that is the case), give it a try even if you don't fulfill all formal requirements they might have listed on their recruitment page. If they turn you down ask them how you can get into a position where they won't turn you down (where to collect the relevant experience, which skills are they looking for, ....).
