Role: Fittings adjustments for Battleship class Hybrids and Missiles.

This is basically the only way that a torp Naga would have been useful - by giving it utterly overwhelming DPS against BS, to make up for its inability to survive a fight against a BS, pathetic range and appalling applied DPS against anything else.

But it would still be less useful than the current rail Naga.

I don't think that it should be given both styles of bonuses leave it as a rail boat but allow the option to fit the 8 torpedoes. 20km range on a BC is close range but not bad it is the same distance as HAMs and 8 Torps without any bonus do about as much dps as the torpedoes on a raven so that seems pretty fair no?

I like options and variety and don't think it would be bad for the game to have the Naga be a wild card when you see it on scan.

Typhoon gets its damage from combined torpedoes and heavy drones with a smattering of guns. It actually has the tank to survive long enough to apply substantial damage as well. A torpedo naga would be killed well before it could get more than one or two volleys off. It pretty much would have been more useless than a droneless talos if the talos was limited to blasters.

Hybrid naga is so much better, but missile only noobs are just butthurt they can't use it because they never bothered to train hybrids.

Edit: Sure, there's no real harm in giving the naga the option to fit 8 torpedoes, but then it would be the only ship in the game with the ability to field 8 torpedoes aside from the state raven, and the 8 effective torpedoes on the golem. All in a sub 100 mil ship.

You have medium hybrids at 5, and several other turrets at 5. It's not the same thing as the carebears looking for the novelty of a mini raven that will wear off after a week when they realize it's less effective at everything.

And Large hybrids 5. And lasers. And projectiles. And siege missiles. And sentry drones. I think the only subcap weapon I don't have the T2 spec at 4 for is Cruise Missiles. I'll end up swinging by and picking that up after I finish polishing off my electronics/engineering skills.

Rumor has it that Jude wants me to train Dictors so I can fly a Heretic. Such a useless ship. -_-

Coming from someone who has both Caldari weapon systems (hybrids of both sorts and missiles) at the T2 level I can say that I'd vastly prefer that missiles never taint the Naga. We need less terrible missile ships. Making the Naga a cruise platform would be a horrendous idea. Same with torps. So please, stop suggesting it.

Not to mention that I think this current iteration of the Naga is actually the first functioning railgun platform. At least, I've heard that from someone.

Yep, it is. Its also a pretty sweet blaster platform with that optimal bonus. If it weren't so damn fragile...
