First off is my hat (if i had one) to CCP. You have made it a pleasure for me to give you £15 a month for the past 6 years. (honestly ) Second, you guys and girls know how to make the nothingness of space look and feel awesome, truly.
The new nebulas, awesome. The new cyno effects, awesome. The new warp effects, realy awesome (warping through planets looks badass!) But the new Raven skin...
Don't get me wrong, the new Raven looks brilliant, as does the Maller before it and the Scorpion before that, but as a player, I feel that the time spent changing them ships, could have been better spent on the ships that realy need changing.
When CCP, are the Minmatar going to get the graphical love and effection you've given to the rest of the EVE universe?
For too long now the Minmatar people have been subjected to the mediocracy of duct tape and sticky backed plastic!
And what i can only describe as poorly constructed scaffolding... It needs to GO!
Everyone that has ever seen or used a Minmatar ship, station or stargate would probably have seen what happens to this so-called "scaffolding" when you're inside or infront of a dust cloud... It dissapears! Quite annoying and not very realistic tbh.

PLEASE CCP, the Minmatar people have been subjugated enough by the scum that is Amarr, atleast let us be an enslaved race with decent looking ships.

I strongly agree.

One of the reasons I staunchly refuse to fly Minmatar, regardless of how good/overpowered they are in most fields of everything, is because minmatar subcaps look horrible.

Honestly, it doesn't make any sense for Minmatar to have scrapmetal ships like the Tempest or Rifter. Maybe in the beginning of EVE, but now? Why not have them more evolve into the style of the capitals with all those triangles and plates and stuff? Minmatar are a sovereign nation with the ability to gather resources. From a lore perspective it'd make sense that their ships no longer look like they're already wrecks.

Matar and Amarr ships are getting redone on the next expansion :)

Minmatar ugly?

When I first chose what ships I'd be rolling in I was drawn instantly to the missing panels and high tech rust welding of the matari ships, and even after being told they were for the most part bottom of the pile at the time my style > substance instinct meant I could never turn back.

New eden would be a poorer place without the deformed triangle of the rupture hulls, or the venerable distopian trashcan that is the typhoon not to mention the lego nightmare of the loki. There are enough sleek and slender ship designs in eve already, with the shiny golden marital aids that are amarr and the art deco submarines of gallente, for the there to be a nice niche for some butt ugly duct tape clad death machines.

Scaffolding = Soul

I actually like the look of the Minmatar ships. They have a look of distressed metal that has been battle-hardened. I really don’t like all the shiny roundish ships.

I always thought the Minmatar were founded by the descendents of Macgyver who escaped Earth with the Blue Peter crew.....

The rifter is beautiful, the Rupture is intimidating, the cylcone looks like something out of homeworld, the hurricane is the best looking battlecruiser in the game, and now we get the tornado another beautiful ship. Tack on the maelstrom, one of the best looking battleships in the game after the Rokh.

That's like saying "I don't like how Morgans look, please make them look like Ferraris!"

Why not just buy a Ferrari instead then? If you don't like how Minmatar ships look, don't fly them, their style will remain the same.
