Good Day Capsuleers,

The Drifters are dangerous even at the warp in beacon to their Unidentified Structures. I warped to 0 on the beacon and was sitting there in my unarmed explorer, not approaching their base, not aggressing them etc. Was scanned by the two battleships and the two seekers. As you can see below, the Drifter Battleship iced my craft. They did not pod me, and I sat there for a minute or so before warping to get a ship to retrieve my gear.

Guess they didn't like my face or something. P

I did go to the structure in Jakanerva, got scanned by a Drifter Battleship with no aggression prior to going to Uoyonen. Interesting!

I'm wondering if it was something in my cargo I picked up at data site earlier, but not sure why one set of Drifters would scan me and let me pass and the others ice me. Perhaps the seekers are like customs or something.

I don't see a mining permit in that cargo. The New Order has struck a deal with these Drifters to enforce the Code.

Veers, you gotta get yourself a sense of humor. I know they might seem spendy, but I hear you can even rent to own.
If it's that much of a financial burden, I'm sure we could start a pool to help you out.

There is no excuse for lack of vigilance. Would you warp to zero, uncloaked in an unarmed ship while hostiles were present, and not pay attention in any sector other than highsec?

Its ok to be mesmerized by the wondrous sights of New Eden, but one should always do so not sitting on a beacon, not at zero, not uncloaked if they have a cloak equipped and while maintaining a focused presence at the keyboard.

But you knew this, I just thought id put it here for the people who didn't.

no one needs a "mining permit" to operate in any space....and it certainly would do no good against drifters.

Thank you. I've been properly chastised. In my high sec lethargy, in the warm haze of my complacency... I wandered among the flame. And in that state of mind, the mesmerizing beams of beauty from the shiny Drifter hulls filled my mind with their loving light. I think... I think... for a moment, I even embraced their light weapons as they fired upon me. Willingly accepting their destruction as if they were our absent rulers. Shocked

Mesmerized
Big smile
