EVE quick match server!

Gonna say no.

Ship costs are a part of eve. It actually adds to the variables you get in pvp. One player has the mindset isk is only isk and buys medium to low grade ds mods (hell even high grade sometimes). One player is a cheap ass. Meet up and see what happens there.

Want low cost pvp...spar with a corp mate. Agree to shoot to hull and the only cost is ammo and repairs. Repairs offset by both fitting armour and hull reps after to fix each other if motivated to.

That and ccp would have to start coding a matchmaker. The'd probably fail hard at this. Not even an insult to CCP...no matchmaker I have ever seen was really any good. And for games that have this its in their best interest to make it good...but its just not happening. I stopped playing WOT over this tbh. Too many MM horror stories over the years had me go enough is enough.

The main problem is, imo, getting the pops going. People online looking for match up but real varied in skills levels and ship choices...at some point matchmaker algorithms go its either give the crap match or no match and wait for it in the short term future. Average player is not going to be happy waiting like 5 minutes to avoid crap match ups. CCP's matchmaker would factor in ship versus ship and skill levels of players here. And the fits on the ships. I see its MM giving out a fair amount of crap matchups here if in place.

Hi,
It’s with great worries I see demands for simplifying the game to create more PvP. Everything from removing attributes (and implants) to removing cost from ships.

As a way to deflect that from my beloved game I hereby propose EVE Quick Match Server!
A new server specifically for quick match, room style fights. Subscribers can log on to this server, pick a ship and queue for a quick PvP match. No training, no ship cost just fights.

There probably needs to be a certain amount of scenarios/types you can sign up for. Examples could be Free (any ship), skirmish (up to cruisers) capital and so on.

I believe allot of the functionality already exists so the development time could be pretty low. It would also give CCP some additional statistics, in a simple world like this how much time does the average player spend compared to standard EVE. Im expecting this to prove that standard eve should NOT go towards simplification but I could be wrong.

See this would be a win/win/win!

- No free PvP.
- No extra server.

The thing what would happen is you got frigs with officerfit without buy something of this.

Go buy a ship and find fights in low/wh/0.0.

Sad now I know someone from CCP who is really sad that his Dojo's didn't take..

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

why dont you just install the test server. You get free sp doing mass tests and you get easy pvp :)

Note: Anything you say will be misquoted then used against you.

I feel like there is an echo in here saying this, but, "no, just go on the test server."

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Please no. Anything that makes space even emptier would be terrible.

Yes
how about something for in-station features :

2 pilots meet up in stations and enter a virtual simulator that looks just like EVE.
