Bye bye Anti-Aliasing?

My setup is this:

intel 7i 920
nVidia GTX 295
12GB DDR3 RAM

I am running 5 EVE clients, and before Crucible I could do so with medium graphics settings in general and antialiasing set to 'Low'.
Now, even if I run with low graphics settings in general, I am unable to run more than three clients with anti-aliasing enabled. If I try to fire up all 5 clients, my PC works its way from 3 FPS to a complete black screen'ed lock out - only dealt with by using CTRL+ALT+DEL, and closing some clients.

Anyone else have similar issues?

I have ironically noticed CQ seems to take more time to load.

I'm getting this issue as well. I have a gtx480 with the latest drivers, and AA in driver settings is set to application settings (of course it's set to high in eve settings as well).

hmm, i didn't think that a GTX 295 would manage 5 clients in the first place. Learn something new everyday i guess.

having run windowed since forever I often have basic graphics setup for all clients - unless I launch a different junction ....
memory leaks are often the killer here though with new graphics it's probably the GPU that's letting you down now...

in otherwords
turn down the settings for some /. most of your clients

Well - I have turned off anti-aliasing completely now, which leaves EVE looking a lot less awesome.
Is it to do with the available memory on the card (1.7GB), and would I get rid of this problem buying a GTX 590 3GB card?
Or is it to do raw computing strength - in which case a GTX 590 might also do the trick?

I would really value any input/experience from anyone else here.

Well I would suggest not running 5 clients at the same time. Seriously, unless you are mining running 5 clients at once seems like it would be exhausting to play.

My EVGA Classified GTX 590 carries the load of 5 characters running at max graphics settings just fine.

I guess the I7 2600k helps too. And the 16GB of Corsair XMS DDR3 2000 MHz ram probably boost it as well.

Plus running EVE off an OCZ Vertex 2 SATA II SSD is good.

Anyway it's certainly possible to get good framerates at max graphics over multiple accts.

I have turned so much low that I am hoping for an ASCII option soon. P

Haven't tried Crucible, but I had no issues running 8 clients just a few weeks back...

Anyone have a guess as to whether this is to do with insufficient memory on the graphics card (keeping in mind I have 12GB RAM on the motherboard)?

I can't force any AA in eve atm.

Win7x64 nvidia 560Ti, the newest drivers.

I tried in game settings - doesn't work
I tried force global settings in nvidia driver panel - doesn't work
I tried override app settings with AA for eve.exe in nvidia panel - doesn't work
I tried it with HDR and without HDR enabled
I tried fullscreen and fixed windows

game was restarted after each change ....

I could force AA via driver settings easily 1 year ago.. now I'm back to game and its looks ugly

any tips ? Evil

i7 970 @ Stock
12GB Ram
MSI GTX280
2 Monitors (1 @ 1920X1200 / 1 @ 1920X1080)
5 Clients with max settings (apart from drone models)

A noticeable drop in FPS since the expansion but nothing major .. I would say the clients dropping down from maxing at 60fps down to around 45ish.

Indeed, something is eating FPS :(

From my experience, the biggest FPS eater since the expansion is the shadow, even if it's only on low. Turning it on has more impact on the FPS than AA/HDR/Postprocessing etc.

If you run 5 clients, you shouldn't even want to consider beauty, but saving power. So everything to low and there you go.

5 (five !!) clients at the same time in RAM, high-quality-settings all, at best performance expected? It's astonishing, that this was working. I would expect two clients on a high end PC running smooth at the same time in this way, but not five.

I personally pefer "no AA" at all, disabling such things like "ClearType" where ever possible. This saves processing resources and gives me a sharp picture = an advantage of the modern displays. I do not want back the blurry picture from old CRTs.

Unless you have multiple monitors showing all your different clients then it is very unlikely to be your graphics card causing the problem. It only has to do the work for which ever client you have running on your screen at a time after all. it doesn't actually draw clients running in the background.
A couple of questions for those with problems??

What processor are you running and with all clients running how much of the processing is being used (check your win task manager)
How much ram do you have and again how much is being used?
What drivers are you currently using ?

Since the majority only seem to have been having problems since the patch, and knowing what was in it, this would seem more likely to be a memory/memory allocation problem more than a graphical one. the increased workload from this patch wasn't only on to your graphics card, there were changes made which would increase memory and processor usage.

Some of the graphics cards you guys are mentioning are well capable of displaying everything eve has on multiple monitors at once without any problems whatsoever, let alone alt tabbing between multiple clients.

Thats funny...

My 4 year old PC consist of an old Quad-Core @ 3.2GHz, 8GB DDR2 and a 5770 from ATI (It originally came with a 260GTX i thought I burned to a crisp, that wasnt the case though..)

I can now run EVE Online much better than before. Since Captains Quarters and the NEX store were implemented I haven't been able to run more than one client, without a significant FPS drop. Even with one client running my GPU would overheat and the fan would spin like it's life depended on it.

Now my PC won't make a single sound, and I can run two clients without any drop in FPS.

Confirming CQ takes longer to load. I made a new character today to see how far along the new player experience has come since I started playing, for ***** and giggles. Character creation was terribly laggy when any changes were made, and before it was smooth as butter on my rig.
