Better aid to help you with you're argument against the crackhead that's incharge of the logo's.


We once submitted a logo (Not cascade, group i was with before them) for an alliance logo.

It was the background of a solarsystem within eve, a lava planet bottom right, and a phoenix in the top right with trails that lead from the lava planet .

Alliance was "Knights of the Rising Phoenix"

It was declined because "This looks like Album Artwork and not eve related"

Needless to say we were pissed, as the only part of the image that wasnt from eve itself was the dang phoenix, and it was pretty terribad as it was hand drawn by a member and not simply snatched from the interwebs, but hey, it was our alliance, we made the logo together - but oh well, what could you do with said person on said highhorse calling the shots?


Just thought i'd put this in here for Hydra to use as more ammo against said person, as it just goes to further proove that the decision of yes or no to alliance logo's really does fall down to wether or not said person "Personaly likes" the picture they're seeing, rather than the set of guidelines they're meant to abide by.


P.S Hydra - I noticed you used our alliance logo as an example. Can you please do us a favor and remove the white background so its just a smiley face with FAIL written in red across it? To prove more of a point it takes the whole of 5 minutes to A ) fix the fuckup as they have the origonal PDF and B) fix some of the guidelines in creating an alliance image on their own "Howto" thread that says "Flatten the Image" (which results in white background ) when they realy ment "Remove un-ncessary layers - we want a pic that has like 2 layers not 20" - which would have resulted in transparent background. And yes, we're going to be stuck with that crap for abotu a year, as it took them 7months to get that one in origoianly :|

I'm not so sure why you are so eager for a GM response... All we have to do with alliance logo submission/decision/integration is... nothing, really (and at least in my case, for the better of it). At best, we forward according requests to the places where this decision is made.

However, this also gives me the nice opportunity to post here without saying anything about any logos from anyone (as it's not my field of expertise in the first place), and ruin your bets , albeit I haven't seen any takers, so I guess you are lucky.

The point is that it doesn't matter what YOU think the logo looks like. It is what represents US. It is good for US. You trying to make some evaluation of our art doesn't make any sense. Art doesn't work that way!

There is nothing wrong with that logo at all. I don't know why it would possibly be denied. Lame CCP.

I would love it if CCP just slapped the old (the decent looking one) logo on your alliance and said, "End of story."

Ugly logo is just taking the mickey and I am glad CCP won't stand for it.
