Aww cute. The Hydra posters are all "Like"ing each other's posts on this to show support. Maybe they can swing enough "support" for that terrible logo in the same way that the CSM was voted in? Big smile

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

this is already part of our identity, i dont see why people are trying to tell us that they dont want it to be part of our identity...

it already is... and we like it...

if you dont want to look at it... dont. no one is forcing you to print out HR logo and frame it then mount it over your fireplace...

In summer '08, I was part of a founding corp of an alliance. We were called "In Tea We Trust" and one of the first things we decided was the future design of our alliance logo (if we ever made it far enough to be allowed to have one). We never made it that far, but ever since that discussion, I have looked at alliance logos as very powerful symbols that unite and represent alliances throughout New Eden.

By then I already knew many of the people who would later become my corp and alliance mates - the future members of HYDRA RELOADED, and I believe that ever since then inside every one of us has burned the desire to have a common symbol. Of course we have our ticker that inspires confidence in our friends and strikes fear into the hearts of the dishonourable, but it is common for alliances to have visual logos as well. We have one and it has been used for all of the meta-aspects that we the players control (signatures, killboard banners, excellent PVP videos etc), but we have no power over it being introduced to the game.

Only CCP has the power to make this ancient symbol of our allice represent and unite us as a canon within the real eve universe, and thus we ask for the understanding of both CCP and the greater eve community in our struggle to be granted what has similarly been granted to many alliances before us.

i just locked an open door.. strange, yet symbolically compelling.

You know, if you took the original logo and superimposed your new logo over the top of it, it would satisfy CCP and look like an actual logo... while expressing the underlying meaning even more eloquently.

Meanings within meanings within meanings...

Just a thought.

CCP may not have enough interns in the art department working on this.

This injustice to the very fabric of humanity needs to be righted. We are the 1% (BC and IRL) and we demand our logo be accepted!

All due respect to HR but I think the primary problem is that it simply looks like something you took 5 seconds to scribble out in Paint.

If you kept the basic concept and at least made "some" attempt to make it look like a serious attempt to produce a logo they could very easily reconsider. Even an emoticon, or stick figure for that matter, looks more polished than that (sorry that's kind of harsh, I know).

Still, while I can see why CCP went "WTF? A 5yr. olds scribble is their in game logo?" in the final analysis I do support you in your effort to make it your symbol. I just really can't blame CCP for saying you need to try a bit harder.

It took us a LONG time to decide on this logo. We went through many, MANY different logos and iterations before we finally settled on this. Now that doens't mean this logo isin't simple; it definitely lacks some artistic complexities, but still, I can assure you this was not the very first logo that popped into one of our member's heads; we looked at a lot, and came to the conclusion that this one was what suited us best.

I really look forward to the day when it is displayed proudly inside the EVE ONLINE client.

why people are asking an alliance that has been using a logo out side of eve in their videos and other media they produce for a long time to remake their logo to suit the devs i do not understand.

Its Hydra's logo not CCPs it already IS their logo its just not in game yet most people who look at that logo know instantly "oh its a a hydra video" so why should hydra change their own logo at ccps behest for no real reason beyond what they THINK a logo should be, again to reiterate it is not for CCP to judge what its players use as their logo or else what is the point in allowing custom logos at all?

This is not your decision to make. Players should be able to represent themselves in a manner that they deem fit.
Your argument would bring player avatars into question, and said avatars are much more personal. Why should you be able to have an alliance filled with face-painted clowns with seemingly freakish necks and blindingly bald-headed portraits, but disallowed an equally clownish logo?

Items that meet the technical requirements and are not deemed obscene/offensive should have no issues.

Your logo is bad and you should feel bad!

However, they should allow you the logo if that's how you want to be seen.

LOL @ logo. I think ccp should allow the logo, and then disband the alliance for having it as the logo.

win win win!

Dumbest logo ever, I think I could make a better one and I SUCKKKKKKKKKKK at art.

+1

The nerfs to supercaps will cause more super pilots to join the largest alliances who can properly "support" their deployment, further concentrating firepower/wealth in EVE. The end result will be fewer "fun" fights, and will hurt EVE in the long run.

Whaddaya mean Middle Management Rex isn't Eve-related?

Anyways, I hope you guys get your logo. We had a bastard of a time getting ours, so we know what it's like. I actually like the new logo. Far to many alliance logos are too serious, yours is fun.

I'm not here to argue "good" or "bad" in art. I leave such arguments to the experts.

Those concerned with clean and accurate lines need only remember Picasso struggled for years as a talented realist before opting for the wildly abstract and succeeding. If our Hydras slipped with the pen once or twice in their struggle, it merely shows their dedication to our cause. We will not gloss over their enthusiasm with banal normality, and we shouldn't have to.

The freedom in Eve is what defines the game. No other game as such limitless potential for variation. If that sandbox exists for us in our spaceships, why shouldn't it for the alliance logos that inspire us?

Those out there who don't like our logo are welcome to their opinion. They haven't felt the stirring pride that we in Hydra feel as we gaze fondly at our sigil. We don't ask for their acceptance, and we need not receive it. We only request that we be allowed to fly our true colors for all of Eve to see.

We will bear them with honor and friendship, as we have always done.

Your post - it had many words.

I skippeded them.

I support your cause, however, if whatever you're doing meets the letter of the laws. Logos are serious business.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.
