If an advert gets through to me, I make sure to boycott their product.

Make this policy go viral and see the world change. Blink

But that goes against the human nature of choosing the familiar.

There's a reason advertising works.

I always ask myself the following:

Do I need this product?
How much do I want this?
Why do I want it?
How much will I need it?

Well, it comes down to this, I have clothes, food, some stuff for those things like an oven, pots, washing machine and I have a computer, bed and bicycle.

I can be packed and ready to go and on an airplane in two hours. I am not tied down by a bunch of dust collecting things I didn't really want.

So, when I say, take a boycotting idea viral, then I speak from experience that it may well work.

I mean, when you buy food for example.

Will you take a well known brand or a one you have never heard of and have no idea even where the company is from.

I look at the price and the mass. If it turns out to be a terrible product then I go to the next one up after that.

I do not believe the marketing so I find out from experience or level headed word of mouth.

This is a de-rail. No need to split hair and try push for a few useless points in your argument. My stance is plain enough.

Read the instructions for your fire alarms. Some of them need a vacuum clear used on them time to time.

Why do we name boats and ships but not airplanes? "Flight 930" vs "Melissa"

Somehow an airplane with a name intuitively seems kind of dangerous. Like, now it's a reliable old buddy, instead of a craft that needs precision maintenance and focused attention while operating. Maybe if they named the airplane "3.141592" or "a+b/a"...
