Speculators speculated that there would be a re-sub spike for Crucible.

There was one, tho it was mostly during the weeks leading up to the release. That led to expensive PLEX. Crucible is out, demand is dropping and speculators are dumping their stock while it is still profitable to do so. The slide will continue until a new equilibrium is reached.

It's also worth noting that some people may be selling PLEX for shinies or investment capital. The price is right(er).

It's also worth noting that with Hours for PLEX currently disabled you can't resubb using PLEX...

It was much cheaper than the market. maybe the guy who had bought 10 plex was scared of the market? Or he wanted to make sure every region was aware that his PLEX was cheapest in EVE.
