I need to start a few websites over next few months.

What host provider best to look at that will give decent help/support for multiple domains? Sites will prob have music/video/ sharing, posting, secure access/loggin.
Mainly diff family/friends type stuff and 1 maybe for eve friend stuff.
Last I looked at this stuff, frontpage just came out and blew minds.

Speaking of that, I would like to get a dedicated server for stuffs (yes, I know the cost, but I need actual bandwidth, which you can't actually get in America...). Anyone know of any good dedicated server providers, that are relatively low cost? Codero does what I want at ~125 a month...

I use dreamhost and have had no real complaints. The ip addresses that you can get come in handy. The pricing is all right. I don't pay for tech support on it, as I find it kind of expensive to get to ask a few questions when I can google 99% of my answers or use the phone a friend option.

If you know a bit and just lack the hardware etc. Can throw up stuff on amazon EC2. You have to administer it etc, but something to consider.

This.

I personally host a number of sites out of my apartment, but bandwidth isn't really an issue, relatively low traffic. If you're going to host lots of media type things, just get an amazon cloud thingy, learn to administer it and have fun. It's a great way to learn lots of useful stuff.

I've seen godaddy, might look further into it.
But that Amazon EC2 looks really interesting. If they have good support and/or 'Eve-like' forums for support,
might be just the thing to use and learn great deal.
Many thanks for the suggestions.

Look into the Firefox interface for administering cloud systems. "Elastic fox" helps boot em up and see what you have rather than command lining or having to remote in each individual one. There are others besides EC2, but they mainly focus on research and computing power rather than infrastructure. Also Ec2 has pretty good prices for small time operations.
