What happened to her?

No Seriously, it never used to look like that.. it's almost like they forgot to add the textures last time they updated it.

I'm not insane right? This isn't some glitch for me across my comps.. it really is just white with some lights and reflections now?

(I did a quick search to see if anyone else had asked, or if it was mentioned in a patch that it was changed.. saw nada.. so yay.. )

Oh wow, that thing really took PBR pretty badly.

I suspect it has to do with the new lighting system (I'm not entirely sure though).

A lot of ships had bad looking shaders after PBR was implemented (notably Serpentis).

If that is the case for the Zephyr, then I don't think it will be fixed for quite a while/

Check out the Vindi...it used to be all black, shiny and sleek...now it's... Sad

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

On purpose so when they fix it, it can be billed as 'content' for one of the patches.

New gallente ships look awesome. Its almost as if they have a metallic sheen to the, strange cause you wouldnt have thought spaceships to be made out of i dont know, metal...

PBR has caused a lot of issues on some hulls- but I've noticed that they often look much better in space than in preview or in the hangar- the Cynnabal in particular.

Issues happen- I'm sure they'll fix them sooner or later P

As a matter of fact, CCP is aware of the issues with PBR and are already working on it.

To rehash an answer I gave in another thread on a slightly related topic:

CSM winter minutes day 4, page 5, paragraph 4 wrote:
CCP BasementBen explained that we are trying to bring back details on ships that are lost between changing graphics levels that have happened since the switch to PBR. PBR is very beautiful but the way the layers work, when graphics are dropped to medium the ships are not displaying true to their core look and this needs to be corrected. This includes adding new ambient occlusion and the ability to make ships look worn and dirty, which could become part of gameplay depending on how old your ship is to show age and wear and tear after fights and usage. A big part of the backend work on this will be going on towards a May timeframe.

the new chrome effect on the gallente ships gives them a very nice retro feel. I like it.

I wonder how many of these threads are caused because people play at such low settings. I know that a lot of these threads are from people who look at ships only in hangar or in the preview windows.

I play maxed out, and the ships (save for a few older models) look drop dead gorgeous with the new PBR effects, with the nebulae, planets, stars and every other light source highlighting them. Ill agree that some ships need to be a tad darker (Serpentis) or redone completely (Angels), but for the most part, they look great.

...unless youre zoomed in on lets say.. the 8-bit Vexor or Rupture textures... but that's almost another thread altogether..

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I don't mind the Gal ships change.. I actually LOVE it on the Sin.. Probably from watching BSG Blood and Chrome that makes me think Shiny isn't bad for a Covert Ship.. Even on the normal Gal Ships I don't mind it.

Honestly, what I like is the flatness to the Pirate Ships vs the Shininess on the Empire ships.. Just makes it seem like the Pirates are more down and dirty. And as for the Vindi, I adore it.

Can't speak to other people, but that's not me.. I took mine out for a spin to check it out, and I play at Max settings. First I thought it was just a graphics glitch on my end, so I tried on my laptop, then I tried asking a few others.. Then I made the thread :)

I agree most ships look pretty dang good. Although the zephyr is pretty much a grey/white model that like I already said, makes me want to bust out some paint brushes and see what I can do. I will admit to not undocking with it, but well given the nature of the ship (limited supply and almost no ehp) I don't really feel like undocking it.

Maybe they are planning to transition the Zephyr over to SoE. It's white, exploration-themed, and has a round spinning thing...

The Zephyr looks like the perfect complement to the Thorax.

Another odd looking thing is the thickness of the sails of the Zephyr - they are far to thick!
I my mind they should be very thin - foil-like - and have a much greater amount of reflection to them.
