I had sort of moral conflict once I actually started geting more into Eve. At first I solely wanted to fly the Harbinger and playing as a race of zealots had some allure because that's different than who I actually am. Now that I'm really invested in Eve and starting to pay more attention to the lore my pilot is a captain who walks a fine line between believer and heretic, honorable warrior or outcast gun for hire. Contracted out by the Amarr Navy to protect his people from the enemies of the state.

Hypothetically speaking, wouldn't most pod pilots be bad? We are all like the 1%, and live well beyond our means, even in a democratic Gallente space, most people just get by. We also take our crews out to danger, even though there is no real danger for us.
