You're missing about 200 dps.

Edit: move things around on the talos to fit neutrons and you miss out on 350 dps.

Also the Talos has up to 2 slots for Webs...

I here those are important for Blaster Boats.

OP also used medium Drones to try and match the Talos DPS whilst the Talos gets the DPS while having small Drones for popping frigs along with said Webs.

dual web does help, but the speed of a rigged armor talos is far slower(400 m/s slower, when overheated). And speed is not the only factor here, signature(gun sig, not ship sig), tracking(webs help there), cost... the range is marginally better on a talos, however. by 2k.

again, I hold to my old statement... what's the point of facemelting dps if you can't get close enough to use it?

Your Brutix fit looks like it is intended for solo or small gang work.

Interestingly the Talos with a Co-Processor II in place of the overdrive to manage to fit neutrons is 300 m/s faster than the similarly fit brutix.

Edit: Even an armor talos is 100 m/s faster than your brutix, granted it has to fit ions, but remains at over 1000 DPS. I also feel the need to point out that pyfa says your brutix fit is near 10% over power grid capacity on an all 5 character.

Any blaster boat would be. if not working alone, it wouldn't have to web, etc...
however, the talos does have nearly double the range if neither target is moving.

If all blaster boats could easily get in range then why fly any other ship?

Did you update your pyfa? 1.1 shows it both fitting and doing 1422/2017 compared to the talos 1414/2000. similar speeds. (al lv 5) it fits in-game on my character. And you're absolutely right about it doing more dps. it's also double the cost.

Doesn't fit not with those rigs maybe not without them

Once the prices balance "double the cost" at 20 million isn't really going to phase most people who can fit it correct.y

I agree the Talos is a joke. The Naga at least fills a niche as a sniper hac replacement.

Webs are required for LARGE blasters...they have never been a do or die with mediums.....specially if you have a scram.

PS Talos doesn't have a drone bay anymore.

This, I guess it may do alright with smaller bore rails, but Naga does it better....and they aren't even in the same zip code with Oracle and Tornado.

2/10 you made me look.

So I fit a rail talos just to see how it stacks against the naga. 700+ dps at 70km. Not as good as the Naga, but still not bad at all.

The talos is better at sniping than the megathron, at least.... traveling at 1600m/s and fitting an extra turret with the same bonuses. With the hybrid buffs, maybe.... maybe...

Its going to need more buffs, you can't fit a tank and 425s last time I tried to fit one. So pretty much anything that can hit it back is going to crush it.

I haven't putzed with it on live yet, in SiSi I tried it with 350s for a while and the damage was alright, but nothing compared to Tornado, and the Tornado can actually fit a tank.

I haven't flown either since that second balance pass.

They but it back. Webs are infinitely helpful against stopping smaller ships from counter scraming you and moving out of your very short range. Also keeps ships from burning back to Gates.

They put the Drone bay back.
