It is dissapointing that President Jacus Roden standing for a second term, and has not been arrested and convicted, along with Mentas Blaque for crimes against the Caldari people.

There was a call by the Federation liberal capsuleers and liberal capsuleers in general, to all the capsuleers liberal and non liberal to join together and remove Heth from power in the State. We will deal with Heth first and then we will deal with Roden and Blaque was their cry.

Heth was removed from power, and the Federation Liberals have done nothing to go after their own criminals in their goverment. Been no protests, no calls for them to be arrested brought to justice for their crimes against Caldari citizens. like they promised they would do.

The only crimes, that they have deemed to be important are ones they have considered to be done by Caldari's against Federation citizens, and not vice versa.

The only action now the Federation liberal capsuleers will do , when they said they would go after Roden and Blaque after Heth is maybe now vote them out of office, instead of bring them to justice.

I ran a publication based on the Scope news announcement here: 'Gallente Presidential elections have begun!'

I attempted to collect additional information about the candidates, but most seem to lack any importance to the capsuleer community & come up blank.
From my point of view, there's 2 serious candidates and one important outsider that can contend for presidency in these elections.

I do not feel represented well enough in this election. The candidates are somewhat disappointing. Of course, knowing our dear Federation, an actress or artist may be voted for no known reason other than popularity.

Then again, those who seem to have clout and perspective seem like a pointless vote. All so concerned with the war.

What about development? I want to see a candidate who stands for the future, and by that I do not mean "this is how we will shoot things next."

Absolutely none of this comes as a surprise.

Heth got removed because Heth needed to be removed. That's how things are done here. We can't expect the Federation to excise their own inner corruption. The only way Roden will get removed from office is if a more powerful, more corrupt Federation cabal removes him.

I recommend blunt force trauma to the back of the head.

I use it well enough for my current goals, I had thought about using my freedom to not vote. But as you say, Jacus Roden needs to go. My vote will go against his election, I suppose change must start somewhere. I have contemplated taking my research out of the Federation's hands. The problem is, none of the other so called Empires seem to support my area of expertise with so much zeal.

It is time for Roden's presidential retirement.

I believe Celes Aguard would be your candidate, she's well known for the infrastructure development of the Essence region. Now keep in mind, as long as the Militia conflict continues, war rhetoric will be part of any presidential campaign, can't escape that.

I stand corrected, Miss Ymladris. Insufficient research may have pulled me towards an irrational vote, thank you.Though I hope most would agree that when elections are held, we would feel more secure choosing our candidate based on their over all policies than just their next way to push the war. There are already plenty who do this for them.

I'll be keeping a keen eye on which way to vote.

Seems to be working quite well, actually. How's that totalitarianism/repression thing working out for you?

See, the thing is that freedom is just that. Freedom. To excel or to fail; to make good choices or poor ones and then live with the consequences of those actions. Being a democracy doesn't mean that we always get things right (I say 'we' as I still hold Federal citizenship) but, it means that we get to make those choices for ourselves. No holder or CEO compels us to act as they wish.

How about you worry about things on your side of the border and clean up your own house before criticizing the Federation about how dirty things are in theirs?

I don't care much for politics, but I do prefer the old one-term limit for the presidency. In that spirit, I say anyone but Roden.

I should note, however, that this is in no way a commentary on Roden's performance.

Roden... I don't like him.
I mean, first thing he did when he was elected was improving his bottom line by using tax money for contracting his own ships as an additional security force, the Roden Police.

If that does not show someone's colours, I don't know what does. He benefits from the war continuing perpetually, and that is not someone who should be left in charge if we desire peace or victory.

I am.

I'm still cleaning the mess the Federation made the last time they went through here.

Oh for Maker's sake!

They are bringing in even a known terrorist as "resistance fighter". They all should be detained and executed for crimes against humanity.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

Shame the Caldari ain't part of the federation anymore, they try so hard to involve themselves in our politics, yet carry so little ( see: none ) clout. If you want to change our politics, you can always apply for citizenship...

The only part of Gallente politics we've sought to change (since our succession) is the part they try and apply in OUR territory. Every citizen gets a vote on that and I'm proud to be chosen as one of those who enact State Policy, in this regard.

Pardons, I was unaware of any Federation policys being enacted in any system registered by CONCORD as belonging to the Caldari State. If you are refering to the War Zone, however, those systems don't technicly belong to any one empire, but to CONCORD, any policys enacted there are only valid if/as long as the faction in question has soverginty (see also: never, if one can't maintain a government, no policys can be enforced long term)

Interesting. I was pretty sure the systems retain their original sovereignty regardless of "occupancy" and are not owned by CONCORD ever, but what do I know.
