If null stations ever were destructible, most people would just pack up most of their stuff and ship it back to highsec. There would be no reason for a trader to risk keeping a destructible station stocked when that station could be blown apart with ease, and so regional trade would pretty much die out in most null regions.
Think more in the line of all station services being destroyed but the station itself somewhat intact with nice burning graphics in and outside.
Other than a couple of services which are currently indestructible and the graphical effect, that would be pretty much as it is now. There's a group of people who want to be able to destroy it completely, with a killmail and everything.

That's the problem. The "Play style of making it impossible for others to play the game" would be in full effect and we'll see station bowling for no other reason, which would be more immersion breaking than getting ganked by the Yule Lads in the middle of summer.

Diminishment of services due to attacks would make more sense than complete destruction. I can see that as a strategic move comparable to deccing industrial corps to hamper their effects on the market.

Maybe that would be considered if a day ever comes that NPC corps declare war on each other to stir things up.

the alternative to stations being indestructibel si that they remain immortal and in another 5 eyars 3/4ths of all nullsec will have a station, which will kind of make the entire point of building one pointless, since there wont really be anywhere to put it.

fact is, there should be NOTHING a player can put in space that becomes a permanent, immovable fixture in the game, because that becomes a "first come, first permanently served" style mechanic, where even if you OWN a system, you can have a station where you want because someone 5 years ago though it'd be funny to put as far away from anything else in system as possible.

either make stations destructible or remove them entirely, this game is about risk/reward, nullsec is supposed to carry the most risk, stations offer near-perfect safety for anyone inside, so either learn to just not use stations, or learn to defend it with the knowledge it may be lost.

If I were in charge nullsec would be abandoned to the players. No SOV mechanics and EVERYTHING (except maybe planets but PI installations yes) destructible. Yes even gates (and when the gate is destroyed, no more local either). People wanna lay waste that's fine, but they gotta sit in it.
