In case anyone is interested, Jehan DeButch was kind enough to announce that he will be running the Angel Epic Arc and hauling the expected 300 million ISK in loot back to hisec using either a CovOps frigate or an Astero.

He was wise enough to take down his original post when I pointed out the danger of his question, but failed to pay the ransom I demanded in order to keep this information to myself.

If you see him in local, be sure to tell him hi and ask him how much loot he's hauling....

I just wish that I had thought to quote his post before he took it down.

Eve-Search FTW!
Jehan DeButch wrote:
I intend to start Angel Epic Arc - Angel Sound in the next couple of days, mainly to obtain the 300M$+ rewards (http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Angel_Epic_Arc_-_Angel_Sound) and sell it in high-sec.

Now, I understand that moving the rewards from null-sec to high-sec will be extremely risky. I hesitate between two ships to transport the cargo and will have to buy and train for either one of them:

Astero: Training time required = 18 hours / Cost = 86M ISK

Covert Ops Ship (either Cheetah or Anathema): Training time required = 21 days / Cost = 20M ISK

As I never went in null-sec, I intend to take my time and give myself 3 weeks to complete the arc. As I will need 21 days to train if I choose the Covert Ops Ship, I need to make my choice now. I don't care to pay 66M ISK more for the Astero if it gives me the same chances of transporting my precious cargo to safety as the Covert Ops Ship. In fact, I would prefer to use those 3 weeks to train 15+ different skills instead of the ones required for Covert Ops Ship but I fear that the longer cloaking delay on the Astero may decrease my chances of reaching high-sec safely. I intend to use the ship afterward for exploration and avoid combat as much as possible.

Safety wise, is there any other difference then cloaking delay to take in consideration for my choice?

What would you advise?

Let's all hold hands and say Chribba's prayer to give thanks for this great tool.

Our Chribba, who art in the belt.
Hallowed be thy Veldnaught.
Thy ore be mined.
Hidden belts we find.
In 0.0 as it is in Empire.
Give us this day our daily Veldspar.
And forgive us our ore theft,
As we forgive those who thieve against us.
And lead us not into gate camps,
But deliver us from pirates.
For thine is the ore,
and the ice, and the moons,
fore ever and ever.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Curse will always have a special place in my heart. It's the first nullsec region that I actually lived in, albeit briefly. Neat place.
