New FPS-reducing fog effects?

I noticed a rather annoying fog effect around Amarr station and some gates ... which let my FPS drop significantly below 60 when not fully zoomed out, is this a new "feature"? I found no new setting to disable that sh** ... Sad

If this does not fulfill a temporary lore purpose, CCP please stop filling the vacuum space with stuff or make it switchable!
