Smartbombing high sec gates?

Eve used to be about challenge, out thinking each other, tactics,sportsmanship etc, now it's been overrun by cod generation with #rekt #tears #yamadbro?

One of my friends got ganked today in high sec, nothing wrong with that you would say right? There is a counter to everything right? I think everyone would agree normal ganking there is ways to avoid and counter it. Got no problem with that.

Well this time his shuttle was blown up and his capsule podded before he was even finished landing on the high sec gate. A maller was smartbombing players as they warp in, in a 0.5 system on a high sec gate.

If random players are smartbombing other random players on high sec gates where frigs, destroyers, shuttles, and with enough of them cruisers are all going to be instantly killed and podded, where is the counter to it? How can you see that coming?

Or is this just another case of HTFU noob carebear, #rekt #tears?

Smartbombing at gates is perfectly fine if not very productive. A bunch of shuttle kills isn't really something I'd be proud to have on my KB if I cared about such things.

Well, you COULD use tactical bookmarks.

But that would take it a bit far so for highsec with all the traffic it is SOL and hope it doesnt happen again.

Some guy in his frigate ... I think it was an interceptor? ...
... thought it's smart to orbit me at 500.

He didn't last too long.

If it happened in Highsec, rest assured that CONCORD had their way with them and their sec status was lowered appropriately.

You can also forget that you are in highsec, and act like you are traveling in null/low. Use tactical bookmarks to gates first in problem systems. Activate your tank prior to warp, so that if you happen to warp into a smartbomber, you at least have a chance. Don't autopilot, definitely don't AFK Autopilot.

In highsec, you are safer than other regions, but not safe. You comment on how Eve used to be challenging, but if CCP were to make highsec 110% Safesec, how would that be challenging? Hmmm?

Highsec is the everpresent helicopter parent, and unfortunately, any child raised in such an overprotective environment never is able to learn the necessary skills in order to survive outside of its cocoon of security.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Nobody cares about concord or standings dude, there is no consequences in eve anymore for ganking. Old news. -10 players all the time. Also they even pull concord away before targeting someone most of the time.
