I say instead, we arm our bears, is that bear our arms? All pilots should be equipped with full combat fit, including miners and haulers. There's no diplomacy available with drones, and I've seen these things do some nasty stuff in anoikis.

They have already taken a place in our space, it may not be long before they interact with our communications... I shall be watching this communications board carefully.

I have been spending some time observing the seekers recently and trying to find some way to establish mutual communication.

I would be grateful of any information sharing opportunies so that our understanding of these drones and the cloaked structures can improve far quicker.

And please, try to keep them alive, attacking them is clearly causing them to become aggressive! And I for one would like to continue observing and learning from them instead of destroying them! Or eventually being destroyed by them ...

Traded knowledge and tech must be better than backwards engineered scrap ... no?

Rather chilling words from the Empress


While she's not my ruler, there's an otherworldly quality to her to which I can be more objective and I think there's more to this Empress than meets the eye. She has that "infomorphic feel".

So for that I take what she says a little more seriously.

Heard stories in bars of some deadly black triangle with magically floating guns that dealt death like a demon and was harder to shoot than an asteroid. Listening to those drunks prattle on with their ghost stories, I was sure the next thing they would say was that I'd better be a good little boy or the Spook Ship would get me in the middle of the night. I'm sure you're sensors are just malfunctioning. Run a diagnostic on systems.

And no, if you put your teeth under a pillow it doesn't turn into money over night. Trust me, I keep trying.

Considering the Empresses government was one of the ones that called for sleeper salvage in the recent rush, and indeed, the ones who got the most and celebrated it, I would dare to say she might be a bit of a hypocrite in this instance.

The last thing I want to do is fight these Sleeper drones and whetever else comes our way; they are an experienced and aged group to be certain; we would dain to anger whoever controls them.

I am doing all I can to find out what I can without violence. Perhaps a dialogue can be established in the future? Some of us have not attacked the seekers yet.

Additionally... I have heard rumors of that same ship- a massive, organic, green vessel sighted alongside a group of the Circadians.

Now, I know this is far-fetched... but I seem to recall reports that data encoded in trinary was discovered in Anoikis at one point; has anything been made of that?

I think you may be right, all those of us who wish to communicate and learn instead of destroy should be sending them the same coordinated message ... perhaps if they receive the same message enough they would respond? Certainly I would be for programming an automated message into my ship's systems when I come into contact with the drones.



Xzantanian Research has experimented in a similar way: I fitted a small piece of reverse engineered sleeper tech to my ship to see if their behaviour would change. Warped around until I found four of them scanning a customs depot. They quickly diverted their attention to my ship, all four scanned me then promptly reported back to the cloaked structure. They did, however, seem quite happy for me to keep following them. I wonder if they are trying to find out how much of their knowledge and technology has made it into human usage?

For the next project in my research, I intend to search for a damaged circadian and attempt to repair it as a gesture of good will. Just maybe this will prompt a response. Has anyone else tried this? Any findings would be gratefully received!
