Refining and Standings question

I am supposed to get lower tax as my corp standings increase correct?

My corporations' standing with the Caldari Navy is 5.54 but when refining there still is a 0.95 multiplier.

Is my understanding of the standings/tax system wrong? Or is there some other mechanic I am not factoring in.

Your standings towards the npc corp are what matters, not your player corps.
Aim for 6.67 or something for zero taxes.

Yeah, 6.67 is the standing to aim for. Alternatively, use a POS if you can, no standings required, and a little more yield compared to a station.

Oh so my corp standings with the NPC do not matter?

For refining, only *your* standings are taken into account.

To be exact, you need 5 / 0.75 standing, which because of display rounding can mean needing 6.68

i.e. 6.666 rounds to 6.67 but so does 6.665 which isn't high enough.

The 6.67 is the 'effective' figure which takes into consideration the effect of any 'social' skills you have learned. Hopefully CCP don't reduce our connection with the backstory & empires of New Eden by eliminating the benefits that standings and our relationship with the NPC organisations bring.
