Can we have a button to center probe formation in space at current ship location? should not be so hard

Ah, and remove black screen effect when the pop up of the agent locator appears ... it woulsd save my eyes.
Most the time the player name i want to localize come from my contact list which becomes almost black ... very usefull

thx

A much needed very obvious thing that should have been introduced with the new probe changes.

No, you can't. And I am pretty sure that you don't want to have that button, because you would have to trade a very important thing for it, like ... well, how about Probe Patterns, predefined and custom. I am pretty sure we all remember how much fun it was when you had to place every probe individually, right? Roll

And please use the search function ... use Google Search (page 2 for instance).

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Using what logic would we have to trade one button for another. It's easy to resize them (they're huge anyway) or to make the map button a small horizontal button above or below the row of button. Or if that all fails simply change the minimal window size.

You don't remember the times back then? We had a "Center Probes" button, but then came the patterns. And with the patterns, it would have been way too easy and too quick to probe things, especially in terms of combat probing. So CCP removed the Center Probes button and gave us patterns, which make probing a lot easier and quicker than the mere center probes. A combination, however, would be completely overpowered.

Point made. Still, if probing is overpowered it's because of the Fisher Price probing mechanics and visualisation (and I would argue that this is indeed the case), not so much because of a "center probes on me" button.

Fisher Price mechanics and visualization don't matter if you use a custom 0.5 AU pin point formation that you can center on your position on a gate/anywhere and scan down a target in seconds. You wouldn't even need to open the Solar System map to do that. Right now, however, thanks to the missing "center probes", probing requires some effort and gives a target valuable seconds to escape if it is vigilant.

I don't want even faster on grid scanning.

Even as a scanner on another character agree with this, no thank you it would be far to easy to scan other ships in a combat setting.

Holy **** just make minimum warp to 250km for all but structures.

It would solve a lot of problems and make sniping actually viable.
