My guess is ... nobody works on the mac version. They just pack the windows version with wine and then release it.

Nothing it's being done to fix MacOS related bugs. They don't even support Yosemite months after it was released.

I have to agree, it feels like CCP management does not care about OS X support more than being able to advertise supporting OS X. Yosemite support should have been ready the day OS X 10.10 was released to the customers; it was available early enough for developers to get going.

Yesterday I cancelled the subscriptions for two of my accounts. This is not meant as a rant/whine, it is just a consequence of aggregated sobering hours over the last two years. Playing EVE on the Mac is not a pleasant experience with all the seemingly random crashes I have seen -- and I am using a high end MacBook Pro with ample resources and the newest OS X version. Playing EVE on the Mac with more than one client simultaneously is just plain awful.

I love EVE and will keep one account, which is enough for casual weekend gaming on a Windows PC I still have lying around. Playing on my MacBook while travelling will probably not happen anymore, at least not regularly, so I don't see a reason to keep paying for multiple subscriptions.

What I will be looking for over the coming months are undisputable signs that CCP management starts taking the Mac OS X platform seriously. I could live with less fancy graphics or sound when compared to the Windows version if that came with rock-solid stability, which is my major concern. No more crashes. Get that done, CCP, and you'll make Mac users happy, keep them as customers and probably even get customers back which were driven away by the shoddy OS X EVE client.

Updated - no problem
MacBook Pro early 2011
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
16GB RAM

The client ran after update ..

closed it - it will now not reopen, either Beachballing at the login screen for the launcher or simply presenting a launcher page without the Username and Password boxes

Interestingly the trusty EVE Launcher Repair Tool tells me that

/Applications/Eve Online.app is not a valid EVE Online client, please try again

WHich is nice ..

Ill file a technical ticket

So its a bug because i upgraded to Yosemite .. 6 months ago .. and CCP doesnt support that yet.

WTF .

iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010)
2.93 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB

I couldn't hold off upgrading to Yosemite anymore. I installed it yesterday, and to my delight, EVE Online worked fine -- at first.

I logged in and played several times with no issues. No other software was installed in the interim.

This morning, game loaded fine, but I noticed the fps was low (approx 10-15 fps).

Then I log in this afternoon, and the game gives me a black screen.

I then tried loading via the Launcher (I usually go direct to the app file and execute that). I still got the black screen, but I could hear the mouseover sound effects, and my mouse cursor changed as i moved it around the invisible char select screen.

Bizarre.

Very frustrated and disappointed with CCP's Mac support recently -- Yosemite has been out long enough. In fact, we are already half way to the next Mac OS upgrade...and no word from CCP on properly supporting an OS that has been out for 6 months, and in Preview for nearly a year.

Throw us a bone guys! I can't play my favorite game.

I deleted the prefs in Application Support and the problem went away.

To the point above ..
Logged in today to find the minipatch had broken the clones I had made with clonemaker ..
and that recreating them from scratch didn't work ..

so no reliable way of running multiple clients

and yes .. 6 months after a major software release .. calling it a bug is sloppy

Is there any chance of a Dev reply to the thread ..

Over and over and over. Sometimes the window just disappears with no error.
Sometimes the window doesn't close and this error is generated along with asking if I want to report the crash (which I always do).
Sometimes the window doesn't close, this error is generated and the graphics in the window is missing some/part/all of certain graphic elements. Sometimes the guns on the hull disappear. Sometimes the screen goes black when in space and when in station. The sounds always stay on though.

These problems were present prior to the Client patch last week, but immediately after that, my client has been crashing on average every 5-30 minutes some days and every 1-3 hours on others.

I don't run other programs at the same time other than Mumble with the EVE overlay. I've tried running without Mumble and it makes no difference in the frequency of the crashes and errors.

I would say that if CCP can figure out what is causing this specific error, things would be a lot better.

2014 5k Retina iMac
Intel i7 core @ 4GHz
16GB DDR3
AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096MB
OSX 10.10.2

I am running the game at medium and high settings. I have tried lowering them to no avail. I have checked the app nap box to make sure the client isn't going to sleep. The Mac client has no repair tool. I have tried turning OFF the station details with no improvement. I checked the box to tell the app to run in low resolution mode, but no improvement (this was recommended by Apple because of problems running non-5k Retina designed programs).

I CAN'T go back to Mavericks due to the incompatibility between 10.9(Mavericks) and this newest hardware which was designed to run 10.10(Yosemite).

Yes its a nightmare, im going to unsub until this is fixed, because i am not going risk losing ships when my client freezes. Its becoming a joke. Tbh it snot just multi boxing it freezes alot and crashes just in single client.
