While this seems completely sensible, it's also worth mentioning that the four different types of fuel block are also somewhat different from one another. Granted you do have to look somewhat closely.

Aye the stands they are on but that's not really something you notice without looking for it

Agree, the same for isotopes.
Names are good , but when you need to do something fast ... you land in on a midpoint without proper fuel in your cargo hold :D

are there any other items that may benefit from having icon colors shifted?

This seems like a sensible and easily applied update.

However, with the direction of homogenization that CCP are taking right now I wouldn't be surprised if racial specific fuels went out the window and we just ended up making plain old boring fuel blocks. 'Cause, you know, having four different fuels that do the same thing is overcomplicating things for the sake of overcomplicating things.

no if your talking about what they are doing to modules that's different.

different fuel blocks are set up to take different isotopes to drive the market and make areas of space hold different value.

the more people that use caldari towers/capitals the more the demand there is for the fuel/iso and so the more white glaze is worth. and if fewer people use minmatar tower/capitals then minmatar isotopes will be in less demand and worth less lowering the price of minmatar ice.

this pushes people to mine in different areas of space. Do i mine in caldari where i can get more isk per block? or do i mine in minmatar space with less competition so i can get more blocks per belt .

there is a lot more to it than it just being an over complicated mechanic from the early days of eve

+1 for fuel blocks
+1 for isotopes

would suggest the ice gets a background, not an outright colour change, +0.5

all in all, +2.5

also - why in the HELL has this not been done yet?

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

Standard faction background like they have for ships + a drawing of a cube over it. They can probably paste a cube icon over a default empty background and call it a day.

I don't even use POS fuel/topes and still think it should be done.

Colouring the blocks like they did for ECM would work too.

Sounds like a good idea that will save a lot of headache. I don't even do POS stuff and I can see that.

The weird thing to me (about the jump fuel) is that the Hydrogen and Helium are unstable isotopes, specifically Deuterium (2 mass hydrogen) and Helium-3. Both of which are the "go to" isotopes for fusion.

Where as Nitrogen and Oxygen isotopes use the "normal garden variety" oxygen and nitrogen and could thus easily just be called "oxygen" and "nitrogen" (or AIR:P)

Pretty sure you can still mix any of the 4 with something else to create a mix with a rather high energetic potential.

Agree on both fuel blocks and isotopes. There are no logical reason not to have it in-game and it will not take any actual development time since 2d-artists are not te same people that create game code (or at least I hope so).

Are you suggesting that only Caldari towers should be able to take little blue pills?? But how will the other 3 races get it up?!

Why hasn't this been done yet? There's no feedback because there doesn't need to be. No counter arguments.

Nike this!

This (along with a lot of other stuff) is such low-hanging fruit I'm surprised it's not already in the game.

CCP approaches problems in one of two ways: nudge or cludge
