Framerate "stutter" after the most recent patches

Hey there,

Recently I've encountered a problem that had never happened to me before. While I have been playing EVE on the same laptop at the highest settings for 4 years, after Rhea (more or less) my framerate has started to do strange things.

Instead of having a constant FPS value, it drops briefly once per second, more or less. Its usual value is around 50 FPS, and decreases to around 25 on each "stutter". This happens continously, no matter the zoom level or the action I'm doing, or even what is my camera pointed at. Some things still reduce the overall FPS as expected (wormholes, warp animations... crowded environmets in general), but the stutter is always present.

Curiously enough, this does not happen on the Test Server client; framerate is constant and high.

I don't know where did this issue come from; I did not change anything in my computer before the patches. I also try to keep it clean and tidy, running registry cleaning programs and defragging regularly, uninstalling unused programs...

I know some people had this problem in the past. Is there a solution? I've tried some of the proposed tweaks in old topics but they didn't work, or I already had the recommended settings.

I'd add more information such as DXDiags or EVE logs, but I don't know how to append them...

Please help! EVE loses much of its beauty when a Pulsar stutters like that (along many other effects).

You aren't alone, I've tried different settings and older drivers without much luck.

yes you are not alone, I have bought this up last month and still have not had a response from CCP with a fix... maybe this patch might fix things.

Mine looks like a crazy heartbeat monitor when I am docked in station with the environment turned off... until of course I open a new email window, at which point the fps stabilizes, pretty odd.

Try opening a new mail window, since that seems to stabilize my framerate it might for you too. Granted you shouldn't have to do that but kinda curious if that does anything.

It works O_O Both the main mail window and the new mail one have to be open (if minimized, the problem comes again). But I can drag them to the bottom of the screen and play normally.

Thank you, but this shouldn't be happening...
