Hi everyone,i have been playing for nearly 2 months and have been doing exploration and mining so far...
Now im thinking about trying highsec combat sites...Those should be easy right?

Is vexor a good ship to do this with? its what i can afford i dont wanna loose something bigger and then be in trouble...
Or i dunno if thorax is better or maybe a navy comet i can do that one too its not so expensive...

And also if u can share some fits for vexor or some other affordable ship to do this with.
ThxP

Another Crendraven.

Yes, the vexor is a good ship for it, just like most others.
That's assuming you know how not to lose* it.

Good day.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

I would ask in Ships and Modules about fits for missioning in whatever ship you decide to use.

As for which ship to use, it depends entirely on which direction you are going in weapons training. Thorax is a great gunboat, while the Vexor is a great droneboat.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

It also depends on the particular combat site. When pointed one down, gather intel about the site. For some sites you might want/need a battlecruiser, for others a cruiser or even a frigate would be better/needed because it's faster or because you can't warp into the site in certain ships.

It really depends (as usual when you ask: Is this ship is good).

EVE is a situational answer rich enviroment.

In some situations, a Vexor can be a great ship.
In others, it's a flying coffin waiting to happen.

It also heavily depends on your character skillpoints, how you fit the ship, your player skills and what combat site you are taking on.

I'm not following... I got my first Gila like, three months in the game. And the three months prior I got my feet wet flying a Gnosis.

Nudging the OP into looking for a slightly expensive ship that preforms well with lower skills in Highsec sites is relevant!

What dont you follow about how 1 month olds shouldnt be buying and flying expensive pirate battlecruisers and cruisers? Maybe he should just buy some plex and fit a nightmare instead? Sounds legit

Yes. Working towards a Navy Vexor is even better. Here is a fit from Eve Uni Navy Vexor Site Runner. In the meantime, fit what you can on your Vexor.

Most people will tell you this is a really stupid idea but I passive shield tanked mine and it worked really well.

That's not a stupid idea. I've run DED 3/10 and 4/10, and even some low sec unrated sites in a passive shield tanked vexor. It allows you to stash the lows with drone damage mods, and you don't have to worry about cap.

I prefer a passive shield tanked rml caracal though, that thing is a beast vs frigates.

Vexor should be fine for highsec DED sites. Provided you can fit a T2 tank and use T2 light/med drones and have some idea of how to fit a Vexor it should work nicely.

What I like about the Vexor for PVE is that thanks to drones you are not stuck with a certain damage type. What I dislike about it is drone micromanagement. There is no "best" in Eve Online since everything is relative to something else. The Gila is a nice suggestion for later. Performance in any T2 is suboptimal with low skills. No matter how sensible that flat bonus looks, it's an expensive toy to lose running hisec content. You don't particularly need a Gila do do highsec DEDs. As far as I know highsec has DED's up to level 4.

In hisec sites, you want to be fast. There is a lot of competition out there. You will be losing to Gilas, Cerbs, Navy Vexors...
Flying a Vexor will not allow you into the smaller sites, so your available sites just got limited.

I would suggest investing in a faction frigate and master your skills. You will be able to do all hisec data/relic/combat sites (with a few exceptions) and the experience will benefit you in your Eve experience. My preference is an Astero, but you could use a Worm, Garmur or whatever meets your taste and budget.

If you are just after the loot pinata at the end of the site, there is nothing better than swooping into a DED4 with a frigate and stealing the prize from under an OP cruiser's noseBlink

Just my opinion...

a frigate will do in most circumstances, any T1 will do the job, the more difficult use destroyer and harder still cruiser. you'll rarely need a battlecruiser though for High Sec exploration. once you hit low sec you might want to use something more specialized to meet your needs.

I guess i ll try with the vexor see what happensLol
I cant fly anything much more expensive cause i have 0 experience with combat sites and if i dont loose a ship to rats i probably will to someone else,i have around 120 mil isk and i could maybe buy a navy vexor but if i loose that im pretty much fu**ed.
I already lost around 20 ships so i know how easy u can loose it Lol

If you've invested in drone skills a VNI with Geckos, AB for speed tanking if vs missile rats and faction specific resists (stack resists vs the faction whose sites you are running) can run 4/10s without too much trouble. You need 5-600 dps to quickly kill the commander rat at the end of 4/10s; I did Phi Outposts (Serpentis 4/10) for a few months using VNI with 1 repper, thermic + kinetic hardener and 3 DDA's. 3/10s and below are stupid easy as long as you keep moving. Just be careful with your geckos it's quite deoressing to lose one to npc's

Best of luck!

Use the appropriate drones for damage type for your faction sites. Don't forget to check for Escalations in your journal, too.
