EULA and getting people to sing on comms to save their ship

HI Guys,

i was told that getting people to sing on comms for their ship/pod is breaking something in the EULA. is their a clear answer from CCP on this.

Given that CCP devs have been tackled and ransomed their ships by singing on comms, and a good time was had by all, the answer is a pretty clear 'no.'

Someone still has trouble sitting comfortably after the whole Erotica 1 thing, which was never about singing for your ship anyway.

yep i opened a ticket, i just want to make sure i am not going to upset anyone if i get in that situation, would be good to get a clear answer from CCP on this too so it stops confusion, so far about 50% of people say yes and the other are saying no.

Ill update the this thread once i get the response from CCP

There is a fine line, in the Erotica1 threadnaught it was established that making someone sing to save their ship is ok, making someone read something stupid was ok, doing it for an excessive period of time is not ok...that is harassment.

At least that is what I got out of it anyway. But tread carefully **** off the wrong blogger and you could end up on the wrong end of a witch hunt.

It pretty much goes that as long as someone doesn't feel harassed, then its fine.

Singing is fine, if its like a song or something. Its when you do crap like make someone sing for hours, that it now becomes harassment.

At the same time, however, someone could justifiable feel harassed if you try to force them to sing on coms. So its a thin line

It's only against the EULA if they use Auto-tune.

I prefer to just kill it, but there are more and more FC's out there trying to be cool by doing this, had an FC in spectre fleet have us catch a guy in proc in low sec we lost the sec status to catch them then the FC wanted to get him to sing on comms the fleet said no so he gave the order to let him go.

seems to be a trend in eve at the moment. if it is going to get more traction i just want a clear answer from CCP just so i know and can't get banned for it.

but that is very definitely NOT the case. No CCP clarification was made in any way on the matter, and only player consensus judged this as "probably" safe, and as we all know, player consensus means jack-all when the hammer drops.

As a completely non-official suggestion I would say it was ok to ask (as there has been plenty of pre-Erotica precedence on the issue), but take a "No" for a "No" and do not force the point, very definitely do not record it (and make it clear on comms to everyone not to do so, so in case some cretin does, your clear "Do not record this" is in the evidence), and pull the trigger at the first indication of the "victims" "stress" (any swearing, traces of restrained anger in their voice), and call it a day.

There is not a clear answer from CCP on this.
