Can you use High-Grade implant sets with Mid-grade Omegas?

Hello Capsuleers, I was just wondering if it's still possible to use High Grade Crystal and Talisman sets with Mid-grade Omegas instead of High-Grades omegas? If so what would be there benefit effectiveness %?

afaik you can yes, but you'd only get a 1.25x increase from the Omega compared to the 1.5x on the high-grade.

Ty Chribba, Do you know what the overall % Effect would be using High-Grades Crystal and Talisman with their Mid-grade omegas versions? I know with all high-grades with high omegas you get 53.3% shield boost amount with crystals and -38.7% cycle time increase with nos/neut with talisman.

The grade (high, low, medium) is interchangable. The type (slave, crystal, talon, etc.) is not.

Just to note, you can through an implant setup in Pyfa and check with a ship fit to see the effects of having a multi-type implant setup yields per the effects. You'll have to the do the math yourself, but using Pyfa at least shows you the end result.

Interesting. PYFA at least reckons it works. My Comet with Snakes:

- mid-grade set = 1392 m/s

- high-grade set with mid-grade omega = 1443 m/s

- high-grade set = 1496 m/s

. Crystals: +53.6% all high-grade, +43.5% all high-grade with mid-grade omega

Yes, it works.

Some time ago I decided the best 'bang-for-your-buck' option was high-grade Alpha, Beta, Gamma, mid-grade the rest.

That would get you around 1.420 m/s, but 700 mil cheaper than all high-grades Alpha thru Epsilon.


Then I lost two sets in two weeks (and I very rarely lose pods, usually), so I decided the best bang-for-my-buck would be not buying them anymore . P

Just maybe double-check it in EFT or Pyfa if you can before dishing out the ISK, the math is slightly tricky on pirate implants and I'm not yet fully awake this morning. Lol

I never buy anything off the market directly. I put in buy orders and get them at discount from my marketing alts ( saves a bundle). High-grade omegas are ridiculously overpriced so I'm going High-grades 1-5 and mid-grade omega for my sleipnir and ashimmu alts. Thx again and fly safe.
